We enjoyed a relaxed lunch here, the food choice was good and veg friendly too. Well priced for Switzerland which can be frighteningly expensive! Free wi-fi and a good friendly atmosphere.
We arrived late in basel, around 23:00 at the trainstation and were just exhausted. Walking down towards the town we were looking around for places to eat and this Tibits restaurant was something we just fell into. As we were in a carnivorous mood, we wanted sausages, meat and potatoes with sauce.. you know, the typical meaty diet. The Tibits... More
Dear lynzh l Thank you very much for your lovely review. It always delights us when meat lovers come to our place and just fall in love with our vegetarian fare :). Concerning our uncertainty about the pay-by-weight-system: The weight of your the plate or plastic box (take away) gets subtracted automatically. We also always ask our guests to take... More
After having some heavy standard dinners I decided to have two nights my dinner in here. They offer a vegetarian/vegan buffet with a pretty nice variety of options, colourful, tasty, from different parts of the world. Really amazing. For those who think that vegetarian food needs always to lack of taste try this one and it will blow your mind.
I live in Boston and we have had a number of vegetarian/vegan restaurants over the past 40 years, BUT they never survive. Tibits is absolutely one of the most incredible restaurants I have ever been in AND it is always full of satisfied customers--myself included! The variety of food is impressive, the presentation, attempt to make food colorful and attractive,... More

As wrote in the title: definitively, my preferred restaurant in Basel! They always have fresh food of the season, very well cooked, a waste variety of receipts and is vegan-friendly! :) Everything they have it is all made by themselves, they just buy the ingredients - finally a REAL orange juice in Basel! Strongly suggested: tempura, soy beans and pumpkins,... More
Vegetarian cafeteria on two floors, with a comfortable variety of seating, on a small side street close to Basel theatre. The Sunday self-service brunch, though made with good ingredients, seriously lacked imagination given the autumn harvest riches currently available at Swiss food markets, a disappointment given what is shown on their website. Hot and cold dishes sold by weight (CHF40/kg)... More
Fresh and healthy vegetable buffet for lunch. One of my favorite food experiences in Basel. Would love some jalepeno or regular cornbread in the bread offering to accompany the vegetables!
Group of four at 7PM on a Friday night. Fifteen minute wait for a table. Self serve from hot and cold buffet. Large assortment, overall quality excellent. Could sit as long as we wanted. You make several trips to the buffet; price is by weight. Dinner was very expensive by American standards, but normal by Swiss standards. About 90 US... More
I recently was in Basel on a business trip, I needed somewhere to eat on the evening and after Google-ing vegetarian restaurants in Basel I found Tibits. I wasn't quite sure what the process was when I arrived but a very friendly member of staff who spoke English helped me out. Basically you fill your plate from there gorgeous fresh... More
