Based on TripAdvisor reviews, my husband and I set out to find this place (along with many other places we tried in Reykjavik!) and this place was open on New Year's Day which was great (not many places were open that day). It opened at 2pm and we got there at exactly that time. Already other people were waiting -... more

Ambiance is nothing special, and the semi self-catering style is probably not appropriate for a restaurant of this cost level, but quite simply they served perhaps the best piece of fried haddock I think I've ever eaten. Far lighter, fresher, and juicier than the deep fried, heavily crusted fish fries we get here in the U.S. We ordered a sample... more

arrived at the restaurant just after midday saturday 5th december . just one other table was taken with a lone diner . we were "greeted" by the only member of staff we saw throughout our entire visit who quite simply had the ability to turn the freshest milk sour . no please , thank you , kiss my [--]. we... more

Quite a good bargain compared to many other places. The fish is freshly cooked and the batter is crisp. The baked potatoes are nicely flavoured but a bit oily. The portion's small though if you're hungry. Also like the range of beverages they offer. Not the best fish & chips I've but I enjoyed the meal a lot in a... more

cheap price compared to many other expensive dining outlets is this why they get good reviews. baked potatoes are very nicely flavoured but not a great portion if you are hungry. fish selections are very limited depending on day you visit. if you go late in evening they would have sold out most of them. fish is very freshly cooked... more

The restaurant is quite understated from the outside - you could easily miss it as you walk by. The menu is quite interesting, with various fish types, some a little unusual. The chips are more like roast potatoes with the skins still on, and are very nice! Would recommend trying something you dont get at home if you are from... more

delicious f&c -- some of the best we've ever had. light batter, fresh fish. the potatoes are salty and yummy, the SKYRonaise ---mmmmm.. i still think about it. the desserts and fresh juices were really good too. the staff was really friendly -- they were locking up when we arrived and they stayed open so we could eat. more

They serve nice fish with crispy batter. Fried potatoes are totally different from which you normally get. They were tasty but a bit too oily. Good for budget dining, but the personnel was not very much friendly and in general for us it was not more than OK. more

A little place near the harbour which is perfect for lunch. Try the haddock! We had a recommended plate which was haddock on a bed of green spinach with fried wedges. It was beautiful, I also got haddock in a pesto type sauce with the onion rings [don't miss the onion rings]. We also had a couple of the dips... more

We ate here on Thursday tunchtime at about 1.30pm and it was empty and didnt seem like they'd had any customers all day which is a shame as I'd read rave reviews about the place. I had wolffish and chips (which are actually oven cooked new potatoes), my husband had the onion rings. The batter on the fish was really... more
