Not as innovative or good as Aqua 8, but still good. Seems to have been here for yonks, very traditional Chinese well serviced and week cooked .....
This was my first visit and having heard many glowing reports, it was eagerly anticipated. I was not disappointed! One of our party was vegetarian so we opted for the veggy set meal with 2 added dishes, one being my all time favourite, crispy shredded chili beef. Every dish was superb, the service was attentive, professional & not overdone. An... More
Simply the best dedicated Chinese restaurant in town, Aqua 8 does run it close but this is more of an Asian fusion establishment, the duck is simply superb, but the highlight was the fillet of beef in black bean which was cooked to perfection. for a midweek visit the place was 90% full, which i am sure not many establishments... This place is consistantly the best restaurant in ipswich for chinese food. The service is always exceptional and the food is always amazing. Love this place!
Amazing, this place truly deserves it's reputation as one of the best Chinese Restaurants in Ipswich. Even though the place was packed, we were never ignored and made to feel really welcome by the lovely friendly staff. The Vietnamese spring rolls were divine along with the fresh succulent prawn toast. Menu prices are really good, around £23 a head for... More
We had an early evening meal before a theatre visit. The staff could not have been more helpful in ensuring we met our timetable to leave to go on. We are from a set menu. The crispy duck was great. All the courses were good and tasty and not salty as can sometimes be the case.
I have eaten at the restaurant many times over the last few years and I have to say Trongs is without doubt the best Chinese Restaurant in Ipswich and the surrounding area. The staff are attentive without being obtrusive and best of all the food is excellent. It may be slightly more on the expensive side and the restaurant itself... More
“We’re going to Trongs! Rejoice!” …has been the outcry from my inner monologue over the past few years. (Can an inner monologue “outcry”? Probably not, hence the “inner”, but bear with me…). I've previously been a massive fan of Trongs. I usually go once, possibly twice a year for a friend/family members' birthday, like a group of giddy school kids... More
Trongs never lets you down, it's probably the best Chinese food you can get in Suffolk. I would recommend booking early as they do get full up. The service is spot on and very attentive - we visited this week and had a gentleman on the table who has a gluten intolerance; with no prior prompting the waitress knew exactly... More
