The waiters were friendly, the food was usual curry standard, nothing nasty. But the decor inside makes you feel like you are in some kind of working men's club with tired and cheap furnishings, terrible lighting, bit smelly, and wallpaper reattached to the wall with drawing pins. Without a doubt this is my favourite Indian restaurant. Lovely food, the mixed grill starter is superb. You can't beat Shami balti for a traditional British curry. Good value and women get a carnation (I usually plant mine somewhere on the way to the Slubbers). Recommend chicken ginger , balti gosht saag and tandoori roti more

Another local favourite. Damn good food, fun staff (ask for Billy by name) and reasonably priced. Can be either an intimate night out or a fun curry party with the mates. more
