The fish and chips on fish friday is very good. Food here is better than Wetherspoons in Billericay. As others have commented it does smell of smokers.
I have paid several visits to the pub recently. Other reviews mentioned the smokers congregating outside the door. It isn't pleasant having to walk through the smoke and added to that they stand there as door persons making it difficult for you to access the pub; it doesn't make it a good start!! Once in the pub unlike The Elms... More
Smelly. Scary and full of drunken wrong ones. My beer had a cigarette butt floating in it! Go outside and its worse! Rather stay in than go here again. Awful place. Shut it down!
Firstly, you have to hold your breath as you walk through the smokers to get into the pub, everyone smokes here, its a smokers pub! Then once your in, it still stinks, it smell like a mix of cig smoke and stale beer, its awful. The customers are a right bunch, Jeremy Kyle springs to mind for some reason? On... More
Full of disgusting reprobates and low lifes (on a good day) and worst of all loads of smokers congregate outside and the smoke blows straight in. For any non smokers its a no go, you cant avoid the smoke with chavs or old men coughing it in your face at both entrances.
Walked in and regretted it but was hungry so ordered. Thought its be okay being a Wetherspoon. Walked out soon after. Food vile, pub filthy and grubby. THE worst pub I've ever been in. NEVER again. Hideous. There aren't enough words to describe how dreadful this smelly dirty hovel is.

The choice of drinks is good and the food generally well cooked. Staff generally are friendly and efficient. I wouldn't call it family friendly particularly but I... More
The food was really good, but we sat in an alcove and it just smelt, the furniture smelt like dirty houses, and I didn't really want to eat there, I did, but not comfortably. I would say it needs a bloody good clean!
