Stopped off for coffee and home made cakes at the Old Post office Wallingford. Roaring fire made the room lovely and cozy with squashy comfy sofas to lounge about on. Service was great and the cakes... what can I say other than- we will be back! More

Visited the Old Post Office on friday evening, drinks prior to going through to restaurant area, ordered sharing plate of anti-pasta which came minus tomatoes, waitress rectified for us. One main course from the 'specials' board of Smoked Haddock and Spinach Risotto was probably the worst dish I have ever been served. The so called risotto consisted of over-cooked long... More

We are sorry to hear about your experience at the Old Post Office. We can assure you that our specials dishes are created by our Head Chef and are cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients. We also use authentic Italian risotto rice and can guarantee that this wasn't long grain. Any complaint we do receive is handled by our staff... More

I booked a table for my family for lunch on boxing day, perhaps I should have noticed the` Omen `of it being half empty!! 2 of us went for the specials starter of King Scallops on a bed of Rocket. When they arrived we were somewhat speechless, just 1 Scallop sliced into 4 mediocre tiny portions hardy big enough to... More

Unremarkable food - similar to 100s of other places, slightly pretentious mix of language on the menu. Don't make the mistake of thinking that they make good use of the Josper grill, best avoid that section of the menu. Also - if they are going to make a feature of having an open kitchen couldn't they train the 'chefs' not... More

Open 9am for breakfast, coffee and drinks. Front is a "pub" and large restaurant with good menu so can choose a light dish or the "full works". Changing specials on the blackboard. Friendly and efficient service and good food. Kitchen in view! Family friendly. Bang in the centre overlooking the Market Place so good for people watching More

Visited on a very busy lunchtime. The staff were able to find us a table immediately. The food was good if not spectacular. Service was fantastic and attentive given how busy they were with much bigger parties. Ambience / atmosphere was good - you don't feel cramped, Decor is nice and open. Not an intimate place but it doesn't pretend... More

This was the first time I had been to The Old Postoffice. I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that I had a good meal and was very pleased with the overall experience. Service is good and not too "smothering". There is an open kitchen so you can see what chefs are doing. The whole place is... More
