I hadn’t been for ages and made a trip especially, having previously given a 5* review. It wasn’t as good as I remembered- food was ok, but nothing special, not as much flavour as before. Also there used to be the option for half/ half...rice and chapati but apparently this is no longer possible. Instead I had to pay 90p extra for a cold chapati that had a third of it missing as it had been torn off! One staff member was friendly but the other guy was very abrupt and I think he needs training in customer service. Not sure if it’s a language problem but he didn’t seem to understand what we were asking for and didn’t respond to questions appropriately. Also there is an app for the restaurant but it didn’t seem to work and the staff weren’t bothered about it. I was told “can you just pay as we are very busy”. However there were no customers waiting, but I expect it was the online orders through Deliveroo as there were takeaway drivers hanging around in the restaurant which also kind of kills the atmosphere - seems like Chapati Cafe gives priority of service to online takeaway orders now. Overall I’d say it was ok, but I wouldn’t bother travelling all the way there especially.More
