We sat right next to the window, overlooking the sunset, the lights were dimmed, all tables were lit by candles, soft music on the background. Delicious bread and butter. Food was pricey but satisfying. Not the best meal of my life, but tasty, I would definitely eat there again. Service was fast and friendly. more

The view is terrific, even on a foggy day when you can't see the water, such as the day I visited. Still, the prices on the lunch menu were exorbitant. I bit on the line in the menu that said in effect, "Our fish and chips have been chosen among the top 5 in the country." For $21.95 (at lunch!),... more

The view is super and they are the only place around--but it's just not worth it for that price. I would advise travelers to hang on a little further (going north--have no idea what is further south) and try Nepenthe or the Big Sur Bakery Restaurant. For about the same money, you get an infinitely better meal. more

By all means stay at the (also overpriced accommodation), but this restaurant was truly awful. The food was horrendously expensive and utterley tasteless, and the service was diabolically bad. If you're staying at the Lodge, pack a sandwich or make do with big gulps of fresh Pacific coast air. more

Everything was satisfying: delicious lunch, beautiful and calm ocean view, and friendly service. We were allowed to seat ourselves wherever we wanted. So we sat at a table on the deck. I ordered Fish & Chips and my wife a veggie sandwich. The foods we ordered came out pretty quick, less than 10 minutes. The fried fish was crispy outside... more

We stopped at there property Lucia Lodge, this is the only restaurant close by, its 40 mins north to restaurants/shops in the Big Sur. In total for two main courses and 1 pot of tea and 1 beer we paid $90. The menu looks fancy but the food is pretty bland. My main course consisted of cheese sandwiched between two... more

We went here on the suggestion of someone at the hotel where we were staying and they were right. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was very quaint and had incredible views of the coastline with outdoor seating available. My wife got the Fish 'n Chips (they were ranked Top 5 by some magazine) and she... more

We were coming up Highway 1 last Fall, on a Friday in mid-October, and decided to stop here for lunch -- and what a great choice it was. We initially elected to sit inside (it was a little windy that day), but as soon as we sat down, we noticed that another party was leaving the perfect table out on... more

Quaint restaurant just south of Big Sur. They claim their Fish & Chips is rated in the top 5 and I agree. Good service and excellent view. more

We ate lunch there last year on a trip down the PCH and had fish'n'chips on the recommendation of a friend. Very good in every respect. This year we stayed overnight in a Lucia Lodge cabin (a wonderful experience, by the way) and ate dinner in the restaurant. I can't understand why this place gets marginal reviews. True--we are "Rubes"... more
