We were recommended to this restaurant by a local Indian Taxi driver. Whist the food was average to good (and I love Indian) it was overpriced compared to similar or better City restaurants. I visited Marinades in Cairns in 2006, and it was so great that i returned three times(although I only spent a week and a half in Cairns). I can honestly say that I had the best meal I've ever had here, and I have had a few meals... If you are in Cairns you hav to visit the Marinades. more

at lunchtime they have a wonderful platter with either vegetarian or chicken/lamb options. its great value. it comes with three little bowls of curry, yoghurt, and rice and a desert. The vegetarian one was wonderful and I really couldn't have eaten any more. more

We eat regularly at Marinades and have done so for many years. We always order the same things so can't award it a meaningful 5 stars however we find the ambience, friendliness and food to be consistently good.
