Being a local, I have dined at Fish 349 on a number of occaisions. I can say that I have always had a great meal here! Tasmania is renown for it's fresh seafood and produce and Fish 349 is the place to sample it at reasonable prices. Reservations are not generally required. A very hip and trendy fish and chip shop with colouring in for adults and great sparkling Tasmanian wine. The surf and turf is the best I have ever had. Think rare seared lamb with beautiful tasty prawns. Fairly informal service as you have to order at the bar but the food is worth the walk up the massive hill! more
Fish 349 is a casual restaurant that is anything but casual about its food! They have kept to a fairly static menu since opening several years ago, adding a few new dishes and the occasional special. Without wanting to stir up too much controversy, I reckon you get better fish and chips here than on the docks! The upmarket "wine bar" atmosphere justifies the slightly inflated prices. more
Love the decor but you can't eat the decor, can you. My whole fish was very salty. D's fish 'n chips was okay, nothing to write home about. more
