The customer service isn't great but the food is amazing and the coffee is quite good. It gets VERY busy so try and avoid the peak times. An amazing place for breakfast. Worth a visit.
Best breakfast and coffee I've ever had. Every time I go to Melbourne I go here... nowhere else compares. The baked eggs are so so good. Coffee is perfect. Go early because it gets busy.
The Hardware Societe has been on my list of brunch places to visit for a while but I haven't had the time to wait for the table before. A couple of weekends ago I found myself in the city with a girlfriend searching for somewhere for brunch and a catch up and Hardware Societe seemed like the perfect place! We... More
Stayed at the Melbourne Adina Apartment hotel. The cafe was very close by. We had brunch on Sunday before leaving our 4 day trip in Melbourne. I had the berry and macadamia nut muesli as I cannot have eggs. It was delicious. Hubby had the egg, chorizo and confit potato he said it was the best meal he had in... More
I've eaten at a lot of brunch places and am starting to weary of them. But not Hardware Societe. Very good quality food, excellent flavours, portions and great value. Worth the wait. It can be a hard task trying to rate a brunch place/cafe in Melbourne since all are usually pretty good, but Hardware REALLY stands out. Worth it.
Yes great breakfast,I love going out and truy new places...but I have my favourite:fo example I love Japan foods and my favourite place is in city,I love pizza and my favourite place is in Heidelbeg Amici,I love thai and my favourite is in Kew,and I love going out ...for beakfast... the Hardware Societe is amazing,
Truly great breakfast and delicious hot chocolate which was served very differently from other breakfast places. We sat at the "bar table" with a full view of the kitchen. It was a short wait (< 30 min) on a Thursday morning. Quaint little café, very busy. Overall, good food and good ambience.
Was in Melbourne for a week for a business conference, and was told that I had to do "The Hardware Societe". On the day I was flying off, I walked from my hotel to the place which was around 2km away and it was worth every step. The service was friendly and since I was alone, I plonked myself at... More
There was a queue but it moved pretty fast. We got seats for two people in about 5 mins. The portions were generous (3 eggs!) so both my friend and I ordered light. My five grain porridge with poached pears was just right. Not too creamy, not too light. The pear gives a bit of sweetness but not too sweet.... More
Went through the restaurant strip in Hardware Lane and couldn't find it. It is actually at the top end of Hardware Street and it would be easy to miss if not looking. One of us had the baked eggs with chorizo and loved it. Another tried the coddled eggs platter which had a great selection and tempted the taste buds.... More
