Not to sure about the previous posts comments with the gratin dish, my partner and I spent the evening at this restaurant after a long days travel and had the same dish......... We loved it. The scallops were cooked to perfection (we got quite a few too!!), and the sauce with the fresh house made bread to "mop it up... more

Our budget doesn't allow for $A70 a head meals every night but Launceston is a port city and seafood was what we were after. Hallams was excellent for location, decor and ambiance. The service was efficient. The only real problem was the food. We started with Scallops au Gratin ($22). The dish was gratin-less and confused. We were uncertain if... more

We end up having our family get-togethers here. Multi-generational love!!!! Food is fantastic, wine selection and location not bad! YUM FACTOR ++++ but can be a tad $$$$$ if you are on a tight budget. more
