We recently celebrated my Mum's surprise birthday here and were thoroughly impressed. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the whole process and answered all questions promptly. The tea room has a warm, welcoming and cosy atmosphere, which was perfect for the occasion. The variety of...teas and the quality of food, especially the stunning and delicious birthday cake, were highlights of the day. Overall the staff provided a wonderful experience for a memorable birthday celebration. I highly recommend this tea room for anyone looking to host a special event or simply enjoy a delightful afternoon tea experience!More
We were gifted an afternoon high tea voucher and finally made it to the tea rooms. Very warm welcome and our choice of tea was delivered promptly. The stand with sandwiches, scones, cream and jam, plus an assortment of small cakes was a sight to...see! We never thought we would manage to eat it all but we certainly tried and we did! It was all delicious and all the ladies working there were so nice and friendly. A lovely afternoon! Hope to return.More
Having visit on numerous occasions, it was the place of choice of my friends who wanted to experience their highly recommended Afternoon Teas. As always the selection of food was amazing, served by lovely friendly staff, who cannot do enough to make our visit a...memorable and special occasion. Excellent choice of teas (which we was able to sample new ones) and a good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. ...... We will be back very soon.More

Sorry your visit wasn’t to your expectations, but without specific detail it is difficult to know how we could have enhanced your visit. We would highlight the extent of our offering has been the same for the last 14 years, so it’s no different post...More
When your boyfriend says he’d like afternoon tea for his Easter birthday … and you remember a place that friends recommended somewhere near Stevenage. Well this place delivered on all counts. From the cheery ladies who took the booking and then welcomed us so warmly....The rustic, quaint but perfect decor, table settings and crockery. It’s exactly as a tea room should be. Food was delicious and I really appreciated the vegetarian variations. Didn’t think I’d like cucumber sandwiches - but adding mint is a game changer. But really, we were only there for the cakes which were extremely tasty. We were so full that a few of them had to be takeaways … snacks for later. And thank you for adding the birthday cake topper and candle as a surprise. It was perfect!More
We’re so pleased the recommendation matched your expectations, and more! A lovely review, thank you so much for coming to see us. Nigel & the team x

I visited this place with a friend for afternoon tea after finding it on Google. What a delight. It is a small / cute venue. The staff were very friendly. There were lots of great tea choice. The food was delicious. There were plenty of...sandwiches and the cake section was amazing. This was my first visit here but it certainly won’t be my last. Thank you for a great afternoon!More

We have just spent what should have been a lovely couple of hours having an albeit early afternoon tea with friends. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. But it came to 2:20pm and we were told the table was needed for 2:30pm . We...wish we’d been told this at the start. I had to leave a half drunk cup of tea…. Putting my coat on and drinking so at least I had some of it! The table was being cleared and wiped down before we’d even walked away. Having driven for nearly two hours to meet up with friends it all seemed a little uncomfortable. It’s sad to have to write this as the staff were very friendly . They just needed us to go. The tea room was very busy and I fully understand in this current financial climate that businesses need customers. It just felt awkward .More
We are sorry to hear you feel you did not have sufficient time with us. We always offer two Afternoon High Tea sittings (1st is 12/12.30pm & 2nd 2/2.30pm) and allocate the tables for 2 hours. This is relatively generous in the hospitality sector, especially...More
Lovely afternoon high tea. A treat for a birthday! Finger sandwiches, cakes, mini apple crumble and scones with clotted cream. Extensive tea menu and as much as you want included. Quaint cosy interior. Very friendly, excellent service.
Thank you for your lovely review, we hope to see you again. Sarah, Nigel & the team.
On arrival we were welcomed brightly by the staff and shown to our table. We were not bothered while waiting for the rest of our party but staff were there to assist should we have needed them. When we were all there, staff explained how...the Afternoon Tea would work, and we ordered the tea pots with recommendations and explanations from the staff. We had ordered dietary requirements in advance for one meal out of 3 and it was perfectly presented and done as per instructions. Wonderful. The sandwiches were on soft bread with no crusts (had not been lying about to get dry and wilted) and the fillings were tasty and varied. The scones were really nice with enough jam and cream (I don't really like scones but these were lovely), and the cakes were good and rich. There was no need to ask for more because we were stuffed by the end. Also in the tea room is a little shop of handicrafts to perfuse, but absolutely no obligation to buy. I've been here before covid and it was just as good as it was then. Highly recommended.More

This was the best afternoon tea experience I’ve ever had. We were made to feel so welcome and everyone was so friendly. The sandwich selection was exquisite and was explained to us when it was served. Also, something we didn’t know, we were able to...order wine and Prosecco. I would definitely recommend The Brewery Tea Rooms and I can’t wait to revisit. Thank you to everyone that served us today.More
