We dined at Rezkakas based on review I had read on Trip Advisor. We found the food and wines very good and also enjoyed the live music (excellent fiddle player). The restaurant was however quite a bit more elegant than we had anticipated and we felt quite underdressed in fleeces and jeans. We were especially disappointed when we saw our... more

Restaurant suggested by concierge from hotel. I wanted restaurant w/live music. Walked to restaurant location from hotel. Had reservation. Seated right away. Menu available in many languages, which made ordering simple. You have choice of ordering Hungarian specialities or Continental cuisine or mix of both.. Service was prompt and efficent. Very attentive staff. My experience in Budapest, at this establishment... more

Why one star for this famous eatery? Because our evening was ruined by an out of control table of 10 next to us which management would not control. This rowdy gang should have been moved to the available private dining room but wasn't, even after we and others complained about the ruckus they were raising, which became louder with each... more

Excellent food, good service, though at times distracted by the celebrity at the next table, lovely music provided by the gypsy trio (would have preferred more indigenous music instead of all the international classics). Pricey for Budapest. more

To keep it short: this is an excellent restaurant with very good, if not somewhat slick staff. The food is authentic, good quality and nicely presented. For tht reason it can be highly recommended! Excellent wine list. However when we ordered a bottle of nice red, a different vintage was brought. The waiter then argued with the head of service... more

It was our last day in Budapest and we spent a wonderful evening in Rezkakas. The food was good, the wine was excellent. The staff was polite. But the violinist was superb! At the beginning of the evening we were a little sad because of an unpleasant incident earlier that day but in the end we were absolutely happy. The... more

We have been twice now (once in the winter and now in the summer) and have had a wonderful experience. We love this restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere (lovely decor), great service and entertaining band. Overall one our best dining experience in town. Menu available in English and waitstaff speaks English well. more

We have dined here 4 times in the past 4 years, and it has never failed. Food, service, and entertainment is the best. Ok, so it caters mainly for tourists, but what's wrong with that for a good night out? We paid £113 for two, but it doesn't need to cost that much, and we have had cheaper evenings there..... more

We learned of this restaurant from our tour books and the concierge. The room was elegant yet held many tourists in jeans. The trio playing Hungarian music were quite accomplished and their playing did not interfere with our lively conversation. The food and presentation was wonderful. The bread was wonderful. The wine was wonderful. This place is a bit more... more

We had only one dinner in Budapest. This was within walking distance of the Marriott. We had made reservations before we left the US. Even with directions, it can be hard to find. The interior is very nice, the food was good and the music was very entertaining. The chestnut puree desert was the highlight of the meal. The selection... more
