Love the Theme. The food is amazing the drink is also excellent. The staff have a lot of knowledge about their products and history of the place.

Overrated food, small portions and too expensive. I wouldn’t recommend. Waiter didn’t even remember our ordering and he came to ask it again 30 minutes later. We were very hungry and only gave some shots for refund, why not give some appetizers?? Atmosphere is great...but it doesn’t save other things that matters more.More

We were waiting over than one hour for our meal. Too expensive and not so tasty. Stuff is too slow, even there was not so crowded.

I been here twice, day after day. I ordered the Earls forest Mushrum Soup and a glass of Chianti. The soup was very teasty and the wine was excelent. The friendly dressed staff ads to the special atmosphere in the restaurant. The prices of the...wine are high.More

We visited for dinner during a long weekend in Tallinn, hoping for a different dining experience to the norm. It did not disappoint. Waiting staff were great, the entertainment was fantastic, and the food was good too. We weren’t sure what to choose so went...for the tasting menu - slightly pricey but a decent amount of food. Our waitress couldn’t do enough for us and really played along with the medieval theme. We were worried it would be a bit of a tourist trap but wasn’t at all. A must try when in Tallinn, if not slightly expensive.More

Had a really nice bowl of traditional mushroom soup, ale and meat and cheese platter. The staff were fantastic, very entertaining and welcoming. Worth a visit just for the staff.

We went here expecting tourist style service. Fully booked downstairs but 3 floors so room on 3rd floor. Dubious!! However, great advice, service and food although could have been hotter!. We really enjoyed it. Would recommend for the experience.

This place was nice for dinner. Has the medieval theme, but felt it was lacking slightly on atmosphere and the food. The food was nice and tasty but some of the side dish pairings just didn't really go together.

Unfortunately, the level of Olde Hansa has significantly deteriorated. The atmosphere remains memorable, but the service depends on the server. At times, it is authentically in line with the historical setting, while in other instances, it is merely friendly. However, the most disappointing aspect is...the quality and quantity of the food – the price and quality ratio is completely off. The portions are so small that after visiting the restaurant, one has to go somewhere else to eat, despite the prices being comparable to higher-end restaurants. Even the soft drinks were diluted during our last visit. In Tallinn's Old Town, there are plenty of much better restaurants within the same price range. We have had good moments at Olde Hansa, but at the moment, I definitely would not recommend visiting the restaurant.More

Loved this place. Pictures and videos don't do it justice, you have to go to experience it with all your senses. The candles everywhere, the epic smells, decor, the live music, even down to the toilets being so unique, you genuinely feel as if you've...been transported back in time and could be sat in a medieval tavern. We had the Grand Chefs feast and it was delicious! The bread was unbelievable, so warm and soft. All the course were great and it was a LOT of food. Came with complimentary shots and all. The waiter, Cedric was a legend. Played his role so well and never broke character, man should have an Oscar, really made the whole thing a level above. Can't recommend this enough, it's a must do and didn't feel tacky in any way, one of the most fun meals of my life so far!More

The medieval experience was corky and fun, and the staff was polite and accommodating, but the food was so late that our mood was ruined. We must have waited over 30 minutes for the main course and we had to complain about it. We were...told the kitchen was falling behind. I try to be understanding but that was my Saturday night out…More

I love this spot! This is my second trip back to Tallinn and I made sure to come back for the delicious sausages, mushroom soup, and beer! They definitely flirt with the line between "camp" and "authentic medieval" but I think they did a pretty...good job of staying in the latter. This is of course helped by the food, which was honestly delicious. Highly recommend.More

Hello, I would like to tell you about the situation that occurred on January 1, 2024, at Olde Hansa Medieval Restaurant. All disputes and explanations with the waiters were exclusively in Estonian, without raised tones, and everything was within permissible limits. It was already late...in the evening (22:45) on the first of January. My friend, his companion, and I decided to drop by Hansa for a drink and a meal. The first floor was not busy at all, with only 20-30% occupancy. I asked the waiter if the second floor was open, and upon receiving an affirmative answer, we went upstairs, where the seating was also quite empty, around 30-40%. We surveyed the room, chose a 6-seater table, and decided to sit there. I noticed a group of 4 foreigners at a nearby 6-seater table and thought there shouldn't be any issues. All 6-seater tables were taken (two were joined and occupied by a large group). As we waited for the waiter, one approached and asked how many of us there were. We said 3, and he asked us to move to another table for 4 and left. I looked around and saw that all the other chairs were like stools without backs, and his abrupt delivery of information was not pleasant. After discussing collectively, we decided to stay in place and explained that two more people would join us in 15-20 minutes. The same waiter returned with the menu and repeated his request for us to move. When we explained that others would join us, he said, WAIT FOR THEM, AND THEN YOU CAN PLACE YOUR ORDER. I was taken aback. I asked him to call the manager, and he left. Soon, a lady arrived, playing the role of the administrator, but later it turned out she wasn't. We explained that we wanted to order drinks while waiting for our imaginary friends. I must admit that I wasn't fond of the idea of imaginary friends, but we saw no problem since we wouldn't disrupt their seating management, especially with plenty of empty tables available. In the worst case, as was always the case in my experience, if a large group came in while we sat at a 2-3-person table, we were politely asked to move. She took our order (4 beers and soup) and left. Some time later, our order arrived, and the situation seemed to calm down. During this time, the room slowly emptied, and more tables became available. After 15-20 minutes, she came back and asked, WHERE ARE YOUR FRIENDS? IF THEY DON'T COME, YOU MUST MOVE. I replied that the lady was eating at the moment, the room was already empty, and why could the table next to us sit four people while we couldn't sit three? She told me that there were 6 of them, and 2 left. I told her that 2 people would join us. According to her logic, should they also move to another table for 4? What nonsense!? We finished our food and drinks, stood up, got dressed, but no one responded to our polite requests for the bill (apparently, they were preparing the check). We decided to go downstairs and pay there. We went down and told them we wanted to pay, but no one approached. They called the second floor, and a girl came down with the check. We read the check and, in addition to our order of 4 beers and soup, saw EXTRA SERVICE +33 EUR. We asked for explanation for what kind of EXTRA SERVICE we are getting charged? The girl, now revealed to be the actual administrator, said that we were warned that in case of not following the rules of the restaurant, we would have to pay an additional fee. Furthermore, she claimed we agreed to these rules! I told her that none of the three waiters mentioned this, and show us the restaurant rules in writing, to which she had no reply. We made it clear that we would only pay for what we ate and drank, not for this nonsense. She suggested calling the police to resolve the situation. We agreed, and we're waiting for the police, but G4S(secutity) arrives instead. Again, we explain the situation, but the security tells us we have to pay, and later we can seek compensation by writing to the restaurant administration, etc. Their function in such cases is simply non-existent. The whole ordeal ended with us paying the full bill of 71.50 EUR for 4 beers and soup. They gave us only a payment receipt, but the actual check with the items, the girl withheld and did not give it to us. So, I'm posting this with what we have. It's very unfortunate that the staff at Olde Hansa Medieval Restaurant provide very accommodating service to foreigners, but when it comes to local residents of Tallinn, the service leaves much to be desired. Dear visitors of Tallinn! Please be aware of a possible fraudulent service at Olde Hansa. Always check your checks before paying!More
