An overlooked and very good sushi joint in DC. Always fresh and very friendly staff. We get takeout here after the kids eat their pasta or pizza at another joint.
I went to this place as it was a block from my hotel and I had a craving for sushi. I didn't expect much as its quite small and unassuming, but the food really proved this place knows what it's doing. A great range of different sashimi, nigiri and maki, all beautifully tender and fresh, alongside some really interesting hand... More
Neat place, very chic interiors, great food, big picture window for people watching...fast service close to the hotel,
My girlfriend loves sushi and the place was close to our Hotel so we went there. Her sushi plate and my beef teriyaki were delicious and compared with german prices it was actually inexpensive. Service was really nice and I can definitely recommend eating there. Oh, and the beer was nice, too...important thing for a german!
This restaurant was convenient from the Convention Center but unfortunately fell short a bit. The sushi was fresh but did not have the perfectly-prepared appearance of a true sushi restaurant. I WAS impressed they had Natto (fermented soy bean) sushi but otherwise not much different. No sashimi either. We were also left dawdling for quite a while at the end... More
My family and I had a good meal here. We were there early enough to order some of the happy hour specials which meant rolls for $5 and inexpensive drinks. The rolls were very good. My wife really liked the tempura which was very delicate and fresh. And my sashimi was perfect. The place got progressively busy and service was... More
We stayed at Embassy suites just across the street and several of us saw the sushi sign and had to try it. We arrived on a monday afternoon which was their "happy hour" and feature $5 rolls as well as other specials. The quality was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The service however, was a little slow. I... More
My family eat Sushi quite a bit. The food at Sushi Aoi was average in quality and portion size was small by our standards. Our waiter "Sing" was prompt. He probably needs a raise!!! My advice is save your money and choose another place. We ate at a brewery and American contemporary food place near our hotel last night. The... More
I had an absolutely delicious dinner at Susi Aoi this evening. I ordered the sushi deluxe dinner, and it was one of the best assortments I have had -- besides tuna roll, and tuna and salmon sushi, the assortment included fantastic warm cooked eel, sea urchin, and other delectable items. The staff welcomed me warmly, and was most attentive. The... More
I prefer something better than this place...wonder if I get sick. I think the selection is poor and the quality is questionable. I'm trying another place next time.
