Dined here recently... 15 minutes for drinks to arrive... main meal arrived almost an hour after ordering...server returned to the table 3 times ...yes three...to tell us they were out of something and we had to change or modify our order... Eat here if you want to stay in Avila - small, almost-charming beach town (too many luxury condo's, no "meat") near SLO. The Custom House is a great value, considering the location; prime real estate on Avila Beach, right by the main pier. I got married this summer at the Light House and had the Custom House cater our wedding. We ordered the new york steaks , clam chowder for dinner and WOW……the food was Delicious. The service was outstanding, everyone was very professional and everything went so smooth. We still get compliments on the dinner that was served that evening. Thankyou!!!!! more
