This was our second visit to Pine Creek Cookhouse, both were memorable, the first for the food and view, the second, excellent food, awesome view, terrible service. We were greeted well, but once the wine was delivered, the server that was suppose to be waiting on us spent the majority of the meal in conversation with obvious friends across the... more

My husband and I have been visiting the Pine Creek Cookhouse for several years, and we had lunch there a few days ago. Coming down off the Cathedral Lake trail (filthy and sweaty!) and heading over to lunch is phenomenal. Be warned - the kitchen closes at 2:15 pm to prep for dinner, so don't dally on the trail. Everything... more

I was a bit concerned with splurging for lunch at the Pine Creek Cookhouse after reading the reviews regarding poor service. However, the chef’s creations do warrant the 11 mile scenic trek and above average prices (even for Aspen). The service was indeed below average; I never got the sense from the wait staff that they wanted us there or... more

I've been to the Pine Creek Cookhouse many times and have NEVER been disapppointed. The location is the most beautiful in the Aspen area. The restaurant is located in a valley about 12 miles from Aspen so count on a drive. Be sure to get there before dark so you can admire the fabulous view. The food is excellent and... more

We went to the Pine Creek Cookhouse as a special treat for our family on our trip to Aspen this year, and it was definitely worth the expense! It is an experience we will remember forever. The drive up the road out of Aspen is about a 1/2 hour, past ranches and houses and out into the open country. At... more

I have lived in Aspen for over 8 years and never made the effort to go to Pinecreek Cookhouse...I had no idea what I was missing. We had a gorgeous day with friends. We all x-country skied to the cookhouse and we had people of all different levels of ability. Once at the cookhouse we had a well prepared meal... more

It is a rare combination to be able to enjoy a majestic mountain scene, whether you are walking, skiing, or take a horse drawn wagon ride into this antique mining town... and on top of that to be able to eat amazing fare and drink great wine! The pinecreek cookhouse is a very special place. My husband and I make... more

We had been recommended the Pine Creek by the Agent with who we book our holiday to Aspen and made a request for a reservation via their web site 6 weeks before we were due to travel, but never had a confirmation of the booking. When we arrived in Aspen we asked our Hotel for a number so we could... more

It was a fantastic dinner experience and the food was very impressive (between our group we had the elk loin, the buffalo tenderloin and the game mixed grill). However.. we were shocked when the bill came. We were 8 people and besides the set menu (which includes three courses), we bought two bottles of wine ($50 each, one of their... more

Treat yourself to a wonderful old-fashioned horse drawn sleigh ride in beautiful country and a charming lodge for dinner. The food is good, not great, but the ambiance and the experience make up for everything. Very professionally organized and run. more
