Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice riad once you get inside from the dark alley leading to the front door. Spacious and comfortable room. Restaurant with a nice view upstairs has only a set menu (no prices shown) with just two choices for the main course. Mediocre at best with...slow service (an hour and a half for a set menu!). Cost was USD40 per person, about four times more than the good restaurants a few minutes away. The worst was the breakfast, served in another building down the alley. Very limited choice and many empty dishes. We both got terribly sick about an hour after breakfast. When we complained at the reception, the clerk said it was probably from the food we ate the night before. He still denied any responsibility after we told him that the only food we had the night before were the fruit graciously given by the riad in our room. No apologies were given. 4 stars for the accommodation and 1 for the food. Stay somewhere else.More

We celebrated a birthday at Maison Bleue, and we were beyond happy. We had made reservations and when we arrived, there was a host who rang a bell from the door, through the lobby and into the dinning room. There we found a table decorated...with rose petals and my wife's name in sequins... The musicians played songs that were inviting but not intrusive. The menu varied and the service impeccable. Our opening salads were 6 varieties of vegetables, all lovely, but the smoky eggplant was exquisite. The Veal Tangine was melt in your mouth tender and wonderfully spiced (my wife's palette does not support heavily spiced food... she fully enjoyed it!). My Seffa Medfouna was couscous, light and flavorful, the veal and vegatables perfectly intermixed. I asked for the sugar to be put on the side and added a little to try, but the sweetness was not needed... the dish stood well on its own. The pastille was fresh and well balanced in crispiness and the custard's creaminess. Our wines matched well... a highlight to our Fez visit.More

Had far better food at better price in many other restaurants in Fez medina. Beware.. although the website shows a menu with a la carte option, once you seat the say its only menu with full course at a price definatly not worth it.

My mom and I just recently went to Fes. I had heard great things about Maison Bleue, so our first day in town we stopped by to see if we could book a dinner reservation. They were super welcoming. I told them we were excited...to try their food and loved that they had live musicians as well. They gave us a reservation for Saturday night. When we arrived they had us set up at the best table in the house and had even spelled our last name out in sequins on the table cloth. (it was a really cute touch). The 2 musicians were there and when we sat down they started to play. They were really good! Halfway through the dinner we realized that we were the only ones dinning there that night. So we asked the manager and he said that they had just only reopened from the last Morocco shutdown. So it turns out that they opened the whole restaurant, AND had the live musicians just because we had booked a reservation. I have never seen customer service like this in all of my extensive travel. We were blown away! Not to mention that the historical palace is drop dead gorgeous and is also the first palace that was turned in to a guest house in Fes. Our host happily indulged us when we asked if we could have a tour of the accommodations upstairs. They had just finished updating them so we were lucky that they were empty and could all be visited. Their location is beyond compare. And the view from their rooftop deck was one of the best I've seen. We will definitely stay with them on our next visit. There is nothing negative to say about this place.More

Eight of us had dinner here last week. An array of salads started our meal Then the BEST chicken pastilla. Even though we were all stuffed, we then had a wonderful beef tagine. Then this incredible flaky layered cream and pastry dessert. it starts with...a J but I cant remember the name. Wine was included with our meal. Said is the best waiter with the biggest smile in all of Fes. We also had live entertainment. A remarkable. evening.More

We had Christmas eve dinner here. Food was great, service was impeccable, decor breathtaking and really cool musicians. However 2 of us were sick the next day and we suspect it may have been the fish pastilla, as they shared the same one. Though the...rest also had fish pastilla and were fine... so not sure.More

Having spent ten days in Morocco and gaining a taste for Moroccan food La Maison Bleue was an ideal place to satisfy my thirst with a range of Moroccan dishes on offer. Where to start was the problem as all the dishes sounded appealing. Taking...the easy way out and choosing a targine was a great choice and good value.More

Really enjoyed our 4 course set dinner menu at La Maison Bleu, which comes with house wine but you can pay extra to upgrade it. The starter plates of salad (think there was over 8 small tapa sized dishes for two of us) were excellent,...but the highlight was the chicken pastilla. The chicken inside the filo was succulent while the outer pastry was perfectly crispy. The meat tajine with quince, as well as the dessert were divine too. A small band playing traditional music accompanied the dinner. Highly recommended!More

Down the stairs you go to another world about 100 years in the past. A sultans private dinning room is what it feels like. You sit at these gorgeous tables and local musicians fill the air with Moroccan music. The food comes in waves and...there is a lot of it. The beginning Moroccan salads were a nice touch. The pastilla of chicken was too rich for us. I tasted the stewed meat and regretted it later in the night, but I should have known better. The dessert was a nice light crisp pastry with oragnes. Overall a nice local mealMore

We stopped in for lunch while exploring the medina and was wow'ed by the food. Loved all the side dishes that were served with our main dishes, great variety and very tasty. Also, loved the andalusian/arabic architecture and design. Was a great stop to enjoy...fabulous cuisine and recharge before jumping back into the medina.More
