We ate here 4 times during our 3 week stay in Fes. We liked the food, the waiter and the people watching. Only one time was there a long wait, usually service was quick and efficient. Different people in our party tried 2 other restaurants...within 100 feet and agreed Guenoune was the best choice. If you're reallly hungry, try the Tajine Royale!More

The waiting staff member was efficient and attentive, but the food was bland and had clearly been cooked a long time before and reheated. Good location for people watching.

I highly recommend this restaurant, waiters were always very helpful and friendly, and the food delicious, to my opinion the best Harira (lentil) soup I have tried during my whole stay in Morocco!

Delicious moroccan food in generous portions accompanied by complimentary snacks such as olives and soup. The chicken breast was well marinated and tender, served amongst a good portion of rice and delicious rice. What I appreciated is that upon ordering the waiter asked whether I...wanted the leg or breast- a detail which many take forgranted!! The staff were also friendly and very welcoming and took great care in explaining what the dishes contained/ were as it is the beginning of our journey through morocco. I also appreciate the fact that one can see the kitchen and chefs preparing the food, meaning one can be reassured cleanliness is maintened throughout the cooking. bonus point is that it is the perfect spot to see the hustle and bustle throughout the medina although it would not be so appropriate if one is seeking a quiet and calm place. Other than that I 100% recommendMore

We had dinner at this restaurant twice as we had such a positive experience the first time. The food was great and portions generous. The service was good and staff very friendly. The Tagine Kefta was especially good. Highly recommended!

Located in the medina, not much more than 100 m from the Blue Gate. A good selection of dishes, and expedient service

The choice of places to eat in the medina is somewhat overwhelming and it was really by chance that we ended up here... we were delighted that we did! The owner and staff were very welcoming and keen to make our meal truly enjoyable. We...had a table facing outwards so we could watch the comings and goings in the souq, which was most entertaining. The owner had a lovely chat with us, his English being considerably better than our Arabic. We noticed in fact that the staff speak French, English, Spanish and German, so various nationalities were made welcome. We chose a selection of dishes which we shared, including a fantastic bastilla, chicken skewers and a kefta tagine with eggs. We were eating with our daughter who is 12 years old and she really enjoyed the food. Absolutely delicious! It was also very good value. I would say it was one of the highlights of our trip to Fes, and would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. It can be difficult to find particular places in the medina. Stand underneath the Bab Boujloud, facing into the souq, walk straight ahead, don't take the first left even though that is where the flow of pedestrian traffic may go, carry straight on and around to the right. Immediately there is a small row of restaurants on the right and this one is the one with bright blue tablecloths.More

Great menu, complimentary olives, lentil soup was best I’ve had in Morocco. Tagines were delicious, especially chicken and kofta, lamb chops were delicious. Ate here several times, over the week, very good hospitality, friendly staff. Definitely need to try if in the medina area. Reasonably...priced.More

One of a number of brightly coloured little restaurants near the Porte Bleue. Several had assertive or even aggressive staff outside hawking for business, but NOT this one. He was friendly, polite and the pastilla was unbelievably good. Yummy lentil soup complimentary which means you...don't need to order a lot. Quite a long wait cause they make it from scratch. One course came out too late and we were full so took it away.Best meal we had in Morocco over 10 days.More

We chose this over its popular neighbours because ot has a better selection for vegaterians. We were given complimentary olives, bread and traditional Moroccan lentic broth, which was beautiful. The aubergine main course we had is one of the best meals we have had in...three weeks in Morocco. We would definitely recommend. Thanks!More

We ate several times at this cafe/restaurant just inside the Blue Gate. The food is good and similar to other adjacent cafes but the staff were friendly and always said hello on the many ocassions we walked past entering or leaving the medina. Some good...choices, always delicious and it is a pleasant location to watch locals and tourists go about their business.More
