One of the best meals we had in Vietnam. Great food with an exquisite menu and beautiful setting. Although it is situated down a relatively busy street, you step off the street and into a quiet courtyard where you can enjoy a relaxing meal. more

went to tour the famous restaurants of hanoi with a friend chef. all of them measured up to expectations except this one. service was condescending: horrible. chairs were small and uncomfortable, stuff in boxes laid around the bathrooms, price was pricey, the room was crammed with tables and chairs, looked like your average vietnamese owned restaurant except for the price... more

We ate at Green Tangerine on the recommendation of many guidebooks and friends. Anticipating an outstanding meal, we were disappointed to say the least. Here was a chef attempting to blend modern cooking techniques with Vietnamese flavours and, in each course, failing. The menu read beautifully, the food looked lovely - but not one course was successful (including, in our... more

The Green Tangerine was an enjoyable evening meal. Though we did not have a booking we were seated quickly in an upstairs room. Immediately we were impressed with the ambiance, and the friendly servers were spot on. The menu was very impressive, and ambitious. My partner and I shared a macaroon and scallop starter; great flavor combination and great wow... more

We have eaten here today. It was really great! Specially the starters (Gazpacho and Kaki Goat cheese) were very good. This place is in the middle of the center of Hanoi, but inside it is nice and quiet. The personnel is very friendly and professional. We had also great wine (wine menu is very comprehensive). Don't go here if you... more

Had dinner on a Sunday in November 2009. For starters, they got the drinks order incorrect. No big deal, that happens. The appetizer was borderline genius, profiteroles stuffed with semi-frozen creamy Parmesan and dollops of a fantastic mousse. If dinner had ended here, all would have been fine. A glass of house red wine, while pleasant enough, came as a... more

The French-Vietnamese fusion food at Green Tangerine took dining in Vietnam to the next level of enjoyment. The service was impeccable and the beautiful French colonial setting was tastefully decorated with interesting old-style objects and lush plants. The dinner my husband and I enjoyed at this restaurant was a delightful change from the repetitive menu choices of Vietnamese food at... more

We had our dessert at Green Tangerine restaurant on our last night in Hanoi. The price is a bit more than the usual restaurants there. The coffee is good but the creme brulee is rather drab and the chocolate mousse tasted different than a usual chocolate mousse. Anyhow, the architecture and the ambience makes up for everything. more

We were encouraged to try the Green Tangarine in the Old shopping district of Hanoi. We had walked past the front door several times as it is Shoe Street. Once inside the front door a beautiful French Restuarant opened up. The panelled doors and leafy decor provided a respite from the chaos of the commercial activity outside. I opted for... more
