The food here is a true delight! The small garden of the asitane hides a treasure of Ottoman food that surprised us in the know most pleasant way. We had stuffed melon (out of this world), a starter I cannot quite recall which oncluded marvelous humus and fava and a dessert based on saffron which was very good too. Service... More

Service, food and athmosphere was incredible. We even ordered two appetizers as we couldn't decide! For a meal, I had melon stuffed with mince meat, gf had sea bass. Everything was delicious.

If you visit Istanbul and want to eat real turkish food, it's the best place!. Actually, kebab, lahmacun, baklava, döner are also very famous but they dont belong only to turkish kitchen. If you visit middle east, you can taste each of them in every corner! Also Arabs claim that the ones that i mentioned above belong to their cuisine!... More

Next to the Chora Church is an upscale--but not pricey--restaurant that was the gustatory highlight of our six days in Istanbul. The exquisite recipes come from Ottoman royal palaces. My husband I started with the 16th century recipe of Almond Soup, which tasted of hummus rather than heavy cream, interesting blend of almonds, also pomegranate, and nutmeg. The grand event,... More

My friend and I chose this restaurant as our 'treat' meal during a 4 night stay but I think we were both a bit disappointed. The food was nice, but the style and presentation of the food, as well as the restaurant, definitely felt quite swanky, which for me is a contradiction in terms when it comes to good Turkish... More

I had a delicious Middle Ages meal on the beautiful patio below Chora Church. Prices were not that expensive and the mea,s were delicious! I definitely recommend eating here after the long climb through the hilly Balat area to the church!

This was the perfect place to have a relaxing lunch after our long walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood. The food was good- I had the vegetarian couscous, and it was light and perfectly seasoned. That and a glass of crisp white wine = yummy!
