Great food, wonderful service. We ate here several times and tried something different each time. Everything was great! We even went one night just for dessert. Prices were great too!!
Doy Doy is an excellent restaurant bc they serve good food for a reasonable price. We enjoyed the lentil soup, mezze, kasharli pide, eggplant vegetarian dish and our very favorite Ayran (yogurt drink). The guys there are nice and helpful. And they have free Wi-Fi. With multiple floors, there's always a table. We enjoyed sitting up top the most.
We rented an apartment in Istanbul for a couple weeks, settling in casually and enjoying this neighborhood. A couple blocks away is Doy Doy. We ate there a few times and sampled several of the meze plates and entres. The lights are bright and the atmosphere is just ok, but the service is good. The food is also very good... More
This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel as well as many guide books, so we were a bit skeptical and expected a "tourist trap." What it turned out to be is one of the friendliest and best places we ate at on our entire trip. The food and the pride with which it was prepared were outstanding, and... More
This restaurant is nothing fancy, but the food was really surprisingly good. In fact, it was my husband's very favorite meal for most of our vacation. We tried it based on our guidebook's recommendation and the fact that it was only steps away from our hotel. It was our very first meal in a Turkish restaurant, and it immediately gave... More
Our Turkish host suggested we try Doy Doy and we are glad we took his advice. A small, local place not far from the Hippodrome with good service and excellent every-day food. Especially enjoyed the mixed grill and the complimentary "poof." Good value for the price.
The location is wonderful. Just a couple of meters from the blue mosque a place on the roooftop will give a splendid view of the mosque and the Marmara Sea. Fascinating place to enjoy the view and have a nice dinner. The food is (considering the prices) very ok, a mixed appetizer plus some kebab is fully nough to get... More
I found the info in Internet about Doy Doy and went there. It was a little bit difficult to find there but not very far from square. The food were not very expensive. Actually, I wanted to seat out side but they did not open there.( was disappointed.. cause i saw some photos about the outside.)
The owners of our hotel suggested we try this restaurant and we had a very good experience. We went for lunch and sat at the rooftop terrace. It was quite a few flights of stairs and totally worth it, the view of the Blue Mosque was fabulous. The food was very good, and the service was fine. The prices were... More
Doy Doy restaurant in sight of the Blue Mosque is a great value low atmosphere eating place. Our dinner for two included lentil soup (excellent), roasted egg plant kabob platter, beef/tomato kabob (excellent), puff pita bread with various dips and a 1.5L of bottled water for 32TL. The portions were generous. Probably our "best meal for the buck" (favorite American... More
