We ate dinner here recently and were mystified by the positive reviews. I ordered salmon which was overcooked. My husband had sea bass which was tasteless. Many of the meze menu items were not available. Many of those available were unimpressive. more

This is a horrible place. Unsanitary, nonexisting service and barely mediocre food. The restaurant obviously lives off of its reputation as a (once) good restaurant and does not care about getting repeat customers. Do not waste your time and money here! Remarkable food! Extrordinary dishes, fresh fish and suprisingly cheap (for Europeans at least). Very friend staff, owner gave us a restaraunt apron for souvenir. Would definetly go back more

Every meal in Istanbul was delicious and usually, one goes for views when dining in Istanbul. While Balikci Sabahattin is very short on view ( a cobble stone side street) the fish, for which they are reknown, is outstanding. High marks, arrive early before the locals and limos so you can watch and be part of the scene! more

We arrived without reservations. The restaurant was full, but they made us comfortable with complimetary drinks while we waited for a table. The food was excellent as was the service. Even though we were the last to leave, there was no attempt to hurry us out. Strongly recommended more
