For all those foodies out there, this is the place for you. The menu consists of some of the exotic dishes along with traditional meals. You can do tapas dinner or go with big dinner plates. We visited at the Abu El Sid restaurant in Cairo in August 2009 and we were excited to find that the food was delicious! I totaly recommend it. When you talk Egyptian food, this is the restaurant the tour guides, the hotel concierge, and even locals point to. Abu el-Sid, which has expanded from the Zamalek location to several throughout Cairo, takes typical Egyptian fare and makes it upscale. The setting is orientalist-chic, and it's not horribly expensive. The service is a bit surly, however, especially with a large group. Reservations are essential if you want to eat today and not tomorrow. more
