If you like curry, the Taste of Indiia is a must-visit in Luxor but some of the previous reviewers need a little reality check. I've eaten at this restaurant four or five times over the year and, sauce-wise, the curries have always been excellent. Otherwise, they have been a shade short on meat and, in the case of the vindaloo,... more

Returned to A Taste of India this year after having a very good meal last time. The character of the place remains in tact with film posters (mostly Egypt related) around the walls. The service was good and the food tasty, fresh and well presented. In line with a good Indian restaurant back in Britain. It was quiet when we... more

I had the Chicken Korma and Aloo Gobi here. Both were delicious. The service leaves a lot to be desired though. I was the only patron and the servers basically ignored me the entire time. If you're going to have Indian food in Luxor, opt for the Bombay Restaurant instead. Both are priced about the same. more

Hi glad you enjoyed your meal sorry if the service was not what you expected, the waiters have been with me a number of years and do not usually work like this empty or full. Glad you enjoyed your visit to my original restaurant I set up but left as i am much prefer not having a local partner .

My husband and I adore Indian food so were keen to try this restaurant on our recent trip to Luxor. The restaurant itself is comfortable although there was little atmosphere. We ordered chicken tikka garlic massala and prawn keylon (runny curry sauce with coconut), which were both very tasty. The garlic massala, as the name suggests, contained a lot of... more

The two young lads on waiter service work very hard in this restaurant. The meal was very good and value for money. go here if you want an authentic Indian currie or English type meal. Highly recommended. more

This restaurant is beautifully lit and decorated-very romantic. The music was soft and well-chosen. A chilled glass and the local Stella (not the Artois sort!) is very welcome after a sweltering day. I stuck to curry but my husband had a steak one evening and loved it. The dupiaza is lovely but the ceylon, particularly, the king prawn one, is... more

I visit Luxor on a regular basis. Every time I visit, the Taste of India is a must. Love the food, love the service and have never had a bad meal. If you go later in the evening when the rush has died down then Russel, the owner, has time to sit and have a drink and a chat with... more

I am dissapointed that you did not enjoy your meal. However based on other reviews and the amount of repeat custom the restaurant has each week and the feed back I get from guests your comments appear incorrect. Regards Russell

Although we spent most of our holiday trying to find authentic Egyptian cuisine, the Taste of India became our favourite place during our stay. All of the food is cooked fresh there and then, wonderful starters, top notch curries and a good choice of desserts (fruity pancakes). If you go try the Tandori King Prawns huge and delicious. Aside form... more
