Wow, what a great find...only round the corner if you are staying at the Mercure and much better quality food. The Spicy Luxor Lentil Soup is lovely had it quite a few times and great value for money. The staff are really friendly with their xmas hats on! Would definitely recommend it to everyone a MUST if you visit Luxor. more

As this was just around the corner from our hotel I thought it would be somewhere we might have frequented. Once was enough. The decor inside was shabby. The smell was enough to put you off your food, I am hoping it was something to do with the Caleshes that used the street outside. The food was ok but my... more

Nice choice of very fresh cafe type food at more than reasonable prices in a lovely, old colonial house with relaxing atmosphere and friendly, polite staff. Separate smoking and non smoking areas a very definite plus. Outside of building a bit off putting (but this reflects a lot of buildings in Luxor); signs point the way to the door on... more

We stumbled upon the Oasis Cafe. What a find in Luxor. We were over Egyptian food and needed some good western food. The toasted chicken sandwich was 100 times better than the one at the Winter Palce and half the price!. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is a great oasis from the hassle and bussel of Luxor. more

We were staying at the Mercure and this was perfect for a quick bite for lunch. The front was a bit offputting for my husband as it looks quite grubby but once inside it is delightful. Reminded hubby that it is recommended in the guide book. We found the waiters fab, portions (although we are big eaters) a little too... more

Went here for the first time as I was staying at the nearby Mercure hotel. On entering I was pleasantly greeted by one of the waiters. We were shown into a small room which looked traditional and was decorated a nice deep red shade with some interesting pictures. There were 4 tables in this room and a lovely chandelier hanging... more

We went to Luxor on our honeymoon and stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant, trying to get away from the kalesh and taxi drivers! This little cafe is actually one of the VERY few places where "no hassle" actually means no hassle! The staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed our meal there so much, we... more

Oasis Cafe features home-cooked food (comfort food plus gourmet specials such as pesto, home-made lasagne, and Moroccan cous-cous) in an early 20th century atmosphere. Jazz plays in the background, and you can drink some of the best coffee in town, or enjoy home-baked muffins and scones, apple pie and chocolate cake, while paging through The New Yorker or Foreign Affairs.... more
