My favourite place to eat in Luxor. Lovely view of Nile and general life in Luxor. food supurb. People serving there couldnt do enough for us
I have been many time to this eatery, by a mere obligation, so could not opt out. Well, tastes might differ, and I should admit that I am very choosy as for food, with my taste been formed by French, Italian, Indian and Spanish quizine. Here I was regularly finding hot plates too salty and drinks too watery, but that... More
Africa restaurant? Dark Africa, yes... The grilled fish was OK, but the "Chicken Egyptian style" was black carbonized (see photo). I do not know if this is what they call "Egyptian style" or that it was an oven accident. Anyway, as everybody knows today that carbonized meat can give cancer, I can only "advise" this plate to people older than... More
We called again to see all our friends at Africa restaurant. Since the untimely death of Mr. Ali, the family have really continued all the values that he held, and the food although basic Egyptian, is both delicious and plentiful. We will certainly be visiting again when come in October.
We love local food, but expect it to be prepared with some care. The chicken was completely overcooked, the lamb was probably what they owners had for dinner that night, and the wine had been ruined by heat. Nice view onto the Nile, but the place was really filthy. You can do better and still enjoy local cuisine.
In Luxor with friends and this restaurant had been recommended as somewhere not to miss. A great experience. Went over by the Peoples's Ferry, and loved the atmosphere here. Up a couple of flights of stairs, sat "outside" looking over the Nile on a lovely warm evening - aren't they all? - and thoroughly enjoyed the set menu for about... More
There is only a set menu at this restaurant but very good value - start with a mezze to share and then a choice of dishes - we both had fish in breadcrumbs finished by a dessert of semolina cake.
We have visited this Restaurant probably the most since we moved to Luxor. The food is very good, with traditional Egyptian food on the menu, everything is cooked fresh that day. Mohamed and staff are also very good, giving a friendly and professional service. You can enjoy a drink of the local Stella beer also while you sit and relax,... More
