Despite average ambience and customer service, the delicious food more than compensates. A top choice in Nairobi, offering tasty options in a simple yet beautiful outdoor setting.

it used to be my favourite joint but my last experience was really bad.Useless food. The naans were pathetic and the food is ridiculously overpriced. The worst place and rude people. Especially sajjad. please dont waste your time and money.
AVOID AT ALL COST CAALLED AT 730 SPOKE TO SAJJAD 2 HOURS LATER HE NEVER ANSWER CALLS USELESS WORTHLESS CANT WAIT FOR HASHMI
We were a big group and booked in advance however the team was not coordinated well at all. Our food came out in bits with some of waiting for ages for our drinks. One of us gave up altogether . Shame really as we went...here quite often as kids and this experience was marred. The food itself tasted ok. Nothing to write home about. Kebabs tiny. Will not be returning.More
Nargis has been around for decades and one thing they specialise on is consistency. With recent refurbishments it looks much more refreshed. At night the ambience is amazing. Fierce competitors with haashmi (now closed) they have chartered their own market share with good bbq food....The chicken is definitely more tasty (u can't taste the cheap fat /oil that other establishments use), well spiced and marinated. Sadly during rush hour u may get issues with the orders. Portions are definitely smaller than most other places. The paneer tikka is amazing and so is the fish tikka. The nans are average and tend to dry out fairly quickly. Service is usually on point. If you want authentic chicken tikka its definitely the place to be (they cook to order not pre cook like others & they avoid msg) so it is worth visiting.More
I have been eating at Nargis for over 10 years till today the taste is still the same. The kebabs are amazing too.
Nice tikka and good prices abit differnet than most places however they seem to be good with their services and taste . The place is abit old but that doesn’t matter as the food does up for what the eyes see
A very busy outlet in the Westlands area of Nairobi. Had a late dinner with family on arrival from Kampala.Th emplacement was a beehive of activity with the aroma of the various meats penetrating the air.We ordered our starters of mushkaki, shami kababs. The chicken tikka...was out of this world and Nargis lives up to its expectation of excellent food. The Butter nans were well prepared, not forgetting the Vimeo Specials.More
I came here by a friends invitation and heard about the Chiken Tikka. The food was awesome. Taste is superb. Service is fast. The staffs attend to multiple tables and do justice to each table on service.
We normally do a take out from nargis the chicken tikka and Mushkaki are truly the best in town. Their vegetable paneer chapatis are also good not to forget their poussin chips simply mouth watering
Pros- their Chicken Tikka was the best I have ever had in East Africa. The serving staff was one of the hardest working and sweetest servers I have I ever seen. Despite them seeming unhappy working there. In addition, I was so impressed by their...service I gave them a handsome tip. They made sure I understood why my frustration was with their menu and made sure my order came quick and were very polite. Cons- Their menu is every limited they only offer curries on specific days. Also their Passion fruit juice was less than appetizing. It tasted off both my friend and I couldn't finish it. It was outright disgusting sorry to say. Also the atmosphere was stark and tacky. No music and no mood. Conclusion- I Would come back for the chicken Tikka. Take away.More
Very tasty food chicken chooza paneer nan all food is very tasty what they really need to improve is service sometimes when you want order something it's very difficult to get hold of a waiter that is very disappointing
They have great Indian barbecue in Nairobi. They offer all types of meat (beef, mutton and chicken) and vegetarian options too. For vegetarians it is mainly paneer options - which they do a great job with (it is certainly not saltless or tasteless paneer). This...is a family style restaurant - and it always helps to reserve if you are many. The restaurant itself is not very pleasing to the eye - but the food does all the justice. I haven't tired going to this place for years now. I highly recommend it for fresh, spicy, Indian barbecue.More
Visited Nargis to settle an argument: what's the number 1 spot for Indian grilled meat in Nairobi. I am team Hashmi. My friend is team Nargis. The restaurant is hidden in a quiet road in Westlands. I have driven by for several years and didn't...even know the house was a restaurant. There is adequate seating inside but it's much more enjoyable to sit outside in the courtyard. Food was quick and service efficient. We ordered the standard array: chicken Tikka, kebabs, masala and regular chips, wings, samosa. Spice levels were just right, tempered by yogurt sauce and crisp salad. The food was sincerely great..... HOWEVER Hashmi flavor lingers in my mouth much longer and drool has often woken me up in the middle of the night at the thought of the mixed grill platter. Give it to try yourself....More
I have been to this place severally and their food is consistently good. Their prices are also very reasonable. The outside sitting atmosphere is very enjoyable especially in the evenings.
