Took our family here and thought the experience was fantastic. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious.

Great Indian dinner at Haandi. I hadn't been back to this restaurant in over 20 years and I was thrilled to discover it was as good - or even better - than I remember. Definitely recommend Haandi. I'll be back.
An absolutely genuine Indian restaurant with the most thoughtful Indian dishes. Make sure you try the fish in a banana leaf. Delicious and lovely. The open window to the kitchen makes the experience just an inch better. Their wine collection won’t impress you but you’ll...have a great time with the staff.More
Medium food and cafeteria like ambience. If you are looking for the best Indian food, this is not the place. The lamb chops were nice. The rest were medium. The ice cream tasted artificial and must have been the cheapest ice cream they could find.
Very poor service by the waiters and the rude manager.. Waiters are confused and do not how to help the customers. I wouldn’t recommend people wasting their time and money on this Resturant as their service standards have really dropped..
Have always loved this restaurant. Persuaded my family and friends to go as had not been for quite a few years. The service was very good and most of the food was Ok but not as tasty as I remembered. Although we ordered “medium hot”..... It was mild We were particularly disappointed with the papadums which were not “fresh” and the gulabjamun weren’t anything special either. Made into tiny sausage like shapes not the normal ball shape and they had been fried in oil which was not fresh.More
This place has really gone downhill. Prices have increased dramatically and now they double as a Chinese restaurant while they were very well known as the best Indian restaurant in Nairobi. The food is not always what you asked for. The wine is served very...haphazard fashion. The tall light brown-skinned lady/waitress who stands at the door to usher people inside comes across as very arrogant and intimidating giving little room for customers to consider their own choice.More
So online it says this restaurant opens at 11am. My family and I get there at 11:25am and are sat and told that the kitchen is not ready. So we sit and no one offers us a drink. My husband goes to ask if we...can be served a drink at least as we wait for the kitchen to be ready. No one comes. I also go and ask and am told to wait they look for the bar man and still nobody shows up. And that ladies and gentlemen is how we left and went to spend our money elsewhere. Our six year old daughter was so disappointed just as we all were. We are most definitely never going back to any Haandis restaurant again.More
I hadn't been here in a while: the deco has been upgraded and contributes to a light airy feel while the service has suffered a nosedive. We felt absolutely neglected. The personnel seemed unenthusiastic and walked with their eyes averted from the guests so it...was difficult to catch their eye when you needed anything. The menu is also more limited than I remember, but at least the quality of the food is still good. Not too sure I will be visiting again given the number of Indian restaurants in Nairobi.More
Warm ambience with good lighting. Service personnel could do better with training and dress code facilitated by management. Chicken curry tasted lazy and basic with too much tomato paste flavoring, the garlic naan was okay
Waiters not motivated or show any interest 3 portions of meat arrive and one portion of vegetarian comes when the other meals are almost done Chef didn’t cook it till much later (no point having a glass screen to show the cooking) No manager available...but chef comes and gives an excuse the platter wasn’t working Just a really bad ending to what could have been a good meal Sort your customer care outMore
We went there twice during our trip. Most of the food options are good. Best: Dahi poori, vada pav, noodles, kulfi falooda and draught beer Avoid dahi vada Service is good! Must try
Service very slow, food quality and taste has significantly reduced compared to other Indian restaurants of the same standard.
Great food, great service and clean. Been to Haandi several times and never regretted my choice. The managers were polite, kept checking on the service.
We went to Haandi restaurant to have Indian food, since the menu looks so interesting.. We ordered variety of dishes plus Tadka Daal without spices, tomatoes & chillies since my hubby has acid reflux issue.. The Daal arrived full of turmeric that u can actually...taste raw turmeric rather than the daal + chillies!! We requested the waiter to change it, poor guy goes to the chef and the chef WITHOUT tasting it, insists there are no chillies, we sent him back again and the chef tasted and said "OK TELL THEM WE CAN NOT MAKE MORE THAN THIS FOR YOU" & refused to prepare another daal.. Is this the service of Indian restaurants in Nairobi? Is that how these namely restaurants treat their customers?? The other dishes were idli/vada, chole bhature, butter masala dosa, paapad, French fries, sweet & mango Lassi.. Their food does not have authentic Indian taste.. For best experience of Indian food in Nairobi, I will rather recommend Cinnamon, Bhagwanji and Giriraj restaurants. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HAANDI @ WESTGATE MALL!More
