Very good restaurant. Great Peking Duck. You can watch the chefs in the kitchen and see the duck cooking. Make reservations and order your duck(s) at that time. It is more expensive than other places but the service was good and it was fun to watch the chefs. more

About three years ago we had a magnificent, perfectly-served, and delicious dinner at Made in China. A couple of weeks ago we were in Beijing and eager for a repeat performance. Rather than another delightful dining experience, we were very disappointed. Our table was small and practically touching the ones next to us. The staff was not very attentive or... more

We wanted to make sure that we had the best peking duck while in Beijing. After reading a bunch of reviews, we decided on the "Made in China" restaurant. In addition to being a beautiful restaurant, you can see the duck roasting in a huge oven. It was truly the most delicious, non fatty duck we've ever had. We also... more

We booked this restuarant based on reviews here and word of mouth for best duck in bejing. It was fantastic from the minute we entered. The service was excellent and everything was explained how to have the duck e.t.c They cut the duck directly in frount of you (see pic). Pancakes, vegtable dumplings , duck sauce was all included in... more

As the meal went on this got better and better. The staff, although attentive, still have a lot to learn about fine service, but I will always give an for effort when requests are handled easily as they did. Of course we pre-ordered the Duck (You need to make a reservation and request duck, because you cannot order on the... more

Make a reservation, this place fills up. Some dishes were very similar to American Chinese carry out. Others were transcendent - for example the scallops. It may not be possible to make the local grain alcohol taste good, but they certainly had several creative attempts at mixed drinks using this spirit. The staff and service were great. more

I took my family here for a welcome to Beijing dinner. We were quite pleased with the atmosphere, the quality of the food (the Beijing kao ya--i.e., roast duck--was great), and the service was good. The location--i.e., in the Grand Hyatt--was quite good. Prices were very steep, though. I would search some of the other Beijing kao ya restaurants as... more

interesting restaurant, with semi open kitchen, can see the fat coming out of the head of the duck. Some seats can get quite hot if it is near the stove! the seafood dumplings are nice. I think if you can only have peking duck twice, have the second one here (first one at dadong, 2 locations, bookings essential). the duck... more

I love this place - its kind of on the expensive side, but everything i have ever eaten there is delicious on a level that defies words. One can not find better duck anywhere. more

I don't remember ever making an effort to calm down in a restaurant before. But "Made in China" brought me close to breaking point. Other than the food, which I rate mediocre, the rest was so awful it defies imagination. We called to make a reservation, and was told we could either sit at the bar, or wait an additional... more
