We went to Chamaca Inn based on the recommendation of our hotel staff who insisted that seafood here was “fresher than anything at Angelmó” in Puerto Montt. It turned out they were both right and wrong. Although the seafood was fresh, the preparation of what we ordered (ceviche, merluza, chupe de locos, etc.) was basic and far below expectation, with... I ate a relatively inexpensive Salmon lunch here. I ate salmon 4 times and this restaurant had the best preparation and the only one who removed the salmon skin and the dark meat from the preparation. It was very tasty with shrimp sauce on top.

Varied seafood and fish menu - very good salmon in shrimp sauce. Very friendly service. Not the best Pisco's (ready made from a bottle) and a surprisingly big bill at the end. Would reccommend given other choices in the town.

Food is good but the service is bad. Horrible owner. We were 4 people at lunch time and one of them was my boyfriend who almost ate a piece of metal string that was on his caldillo de mariscos. When we told the owner (a fat lady with no education at all) she said that we were lying, so we... More

You can eat sea food and fish ,specailly salmon, buy plates are quite expensive , service was not so good when we went . as they were quite busy and had no time . Not good for a romantic dinner ,as decoration is basic ,and too much light .

The place was visited by some locals, and not nearly full, but the service was good, the waiters were really interested in our trip, and they called in the owner when we told them we checked them out on TripAdvisor, explained to them what TripAdvisor was, waiter advised us on a smaller order because it was a lot of food... We returned to Chamaca Inn recently everything was going swimmingly, we had the pisco sour (sweet, very sweet, but not too bad 2.000), 3 medallas white wine (6.000 pesos the bottle), the mixed starter (king crab (centolla), crab pincers (super jumbo), big shrimp (not from Chile), and various other tasties, very good. then we had different dishes: hake with black... Fresh, tasty seafood at reasonable price and a smiling service. Friendly owner doesn't speak English but menu is in English and has photo. Drop by when in town!

I have eaten here several times in the past 5 years, always with excellent results. All is very fresh, prepared so that you can enjoy the fish in a simple presentation. The ceviche is to die for! Desert might be half a ripe, delicious melon or peach. Always prompt and friendly service. Some outdoor seating in nice weather.

We'd heard good and bad things for a long time about this one. last night we decided to try it. it's a little run down around the edges, could definitely use a freshening up. we had a simple dinner, which the wait staff got a bit frustrated with, they tried the classic upsells...and turned on their backs when we said...
