The I drive to Austin from Dallas just to get the Mahi Mahi tacos. Best tacos on the planet. I always want to try something else but the Mahi Tacos are too good to get anything else.
I went with a group of five for a late dinner, around 9:30. The place was empty, and it really didn't feel like a fun place to be. I asked the cashier what his favorite menu item was and ordered it: the Maui Bowl with queso. It was a bowl of teriyaki steak, rice, salsa, queso, cilantro, black beans, and... More
We had a great lunch here on a beautiful warm day and sat out front. The service was great and the food was delicious, but my favourite thing about it was the option to have the tacos wrapped in lettuce instead of a tortilla. I was able to try a few different taco selections in a taco style with just... More
Wahoo's is a great lunch spot, both downtown and on South Congress. I took some friends to the South Congress location on a recent visit and everything met our expectations. The chips and salsa were a great start. The tacos were fresh. (Our favorites are the shrimp and the coffee-rubbed steak tacos, and they were as good as always.) The... More
Wonderful range of Mexican dishes on the menu - many with fish, grilled or fried. Customers give their orders at the counter and the food comes quick with a smile. Wonderful fresh salsa and both black and white beans. This place is a winner for a comfortable informal meal with eclectic decor.
This place had great tex-mex food at a good price in a very fun, relaxed atmosphere. The one time they got a food order a bit wrong they gave us a free margharita to say sorry - you can't say fairer than that!
The tacos were so good that we actually ordered more after we finished our platters. Everything was so flavorful. I can't imagine there is a single thing on that menu that isn't good. The guy behind the register was nice, it was cheap... Might go back tomorrow.
I usually opt for eating local and with local businesses but Wahoo's is an exception I make. The fish taco here are AWESOME and without equal in Austin. If you like California style Fish Tacos, this is your place. The prices are moderate, food is tasty and affordable. The bowls are worth trying too! I visit both the downtown and... More
Was just looking for a cool laid back place with some healthy options and was taken to Wahoo's. First look reminds me of a fish taco joint in Memphis, and to my surprise the food was just as good. This is great find in Austin with great prices. Had the fish tacos and grilled chicken bowl and brown rice and... More
Got the teriyaki fish bowl....Large! Soooo good. I loved the laid back atmosphere and the staff was cool. They even have a ton of tv's for watching sports and other events. We wanted to go back here but didn't get a chance. I'll be craving that bowl until I come back to Austin!
