We were quite excited about coming here but were hugely disappointed with both pastries and cakes. We have tasted far better at almost every restaurant we have been to in brazil. Interesting experience; lots of people going in just to take pictures; like going back in time, the place looks like a movie set. We went for a snack (sandwiches), prices are reasonable; quality of food is good, service a bit slow, but efficient. It is definitely worth going. The place is a nice stop in this busy historical center of the town. The atmosphere is retro and romantic with a large choice of snacks and pasteries. You can go there with friends and/or family. more

Not easy to find, this dessert and snacks restaurant is housed in a magnificent 19th century building that looks as if it might have inspired Monet. The pastries are worthy of the very finest in Paris or anywhere else. more

a great excursion into downtown rio is Cafe Colombo. Old World Ambiance, Excellent Bakery and Excellent lunch served upstairs. Truly an original authentic Brasil experience! more

This was the hidden gem, that's really well known. Everyone talks about Copacabana and Ipanema, but once you're in the heart of Centro, this is the "must-see" place to have an afternoon snack, lunch, or a dessert. It's so well appointed with classic style, and fantastic pastries. It's absolutely beautiful. more
