Sitting at the chef's table for a a 6 course meal was a true delight. Highly recommend this restaurant for people looking for a chef driven meal. Will set you back a bit, but well worth the experience. more
The menu changes when certain foods are in season. Probably the second best chef in Birmingham, behind Frank Stitz. more
This restaurant has an excellent reputation and the food was good but we felt scammed by the waiter. We had a party of 6 and were looking to split 2 or 3 appetizers. The waiter sold us on an "appetizer sampler" which we were led to believe was mini portions of several appetizers. We ended up with 6 full appetizer... more
What a bizarre and pretentious little place. I was taken here for my birthday. After the ordeal was over, the best thing I can say is I would rather have had the cash they spent. My wife and I hit this place first out of many fine choices in Birmingham. We sat at the Chef Counter which gave us a great view of all the work being done in the kitchen. BY FAR, Our favorite restaurant ANYwhere! (better than our favorite in SFO and our favorite in NY). Sit at the chef's counter and you'll have a far more superior experience than you would sitting at a table. Chris Hastings didn't get nominated for a James Beard for nothing, and Chef Chris Z is amazing, attentive and innovative. Great wine list... more
Great wine list, food is good but not the best in Birmingham. I can think of many better choices if you are here only for a short time. Great setting and easy access if you valet. more
hit this restaurant on a Friday night around 9 and they accommodated us on the patio .. great pumpkin martini, had the fish special and veggie plate .. donuts and cream brulee excellent ... a must hit in Alabama .. have a copy of the menu if you want more info ... amazing service ... more
