New owner and new Chef equals a good experience. The prix fixe menu by the chef was delicious. The service was good but I think need to hire more. very reasonably priced prix fixe was only 55 for 3 course. more
Our one-week stay at The Breakwater Inn was a game show prize, booked through a travel agent supplied by the game show. Must admit that we got a bit concerned when we read a few negative comments on some online review sites; however, we were pleasantly surprised. It has a new owner! The Breakwater has been in Juneau for years and used to be wonderful. Not so any longer. It has apparently changed hands again and has suffered for it. Nice water view if you're sitting by a window. Food was good in the past including Japanese cuisine, but now it's nothing special. more
The Breakwater is a Juneau institution that has been around longer than I've been alive. Over the years the quality of the restaurant has varied as chefs and managers come and go.
