We had a table overlooking table mountain as the sun went down and then the illuminated harbourside thereafter - perfect. Drinks service was slow but spotted by the manager who came over apologised and took the order himself - well rescued. I had the soup to start - which was excellent and we shared a sea food platter which was... more
I couldn't find any reason to complain about the dinner I had here. The view of Table Mountain was breathtaking. I found the menu extensive, and the food excellent. The service was friendly without being overly formal. I also found the atmosphere to be surprisingly laidback and relaxed for such an upmarket restaurant. Baia is an experience not to be missed. more
I read previous reviews of this restaurant which gave the impression it was pricey - I didn't find it so. I ate at lunchtime and got a table giving a fantastic view of Table Mountain - I found myself admiring the view so much I forgot to eat! I had the seafood bisque (a piece of langoustine in the bottom),... more
We had very good food (known for seafood) but I had meat (springbok) very good with an excellent bottle of wine Fusion V. The service was a bit too expedited. more
On our first night in Cape Town the five star hotel we were staying at suggested a restaurant for great seafood--well the hotel was way off base. Luckely the Biai is close to the cruise ship dock so they can servfe an over priced poor meal and not see the customer again. The meal was unforgetable for serving mealy lobster,... more

The fish was excellant and very fresh - a simple preparation that let the flavor shine through - I especially reccommend the kingclip, a local fish we do not get here in the US. The... more
This restaurant is overrated, supposedly one of the best seafood places in Capetown,we actually had a bad experience. Food had no taste, slamon was smelly, oysters where the worst i ate here, and to top it off, we had a rat strolling for his food in between our legs. Upon our discreet complaint, we decided to leave the restaurant, as we... more
We emailed Baia before we left Scotland to book a table for our daughters birthday. The friendly reply was instant and they told us they would do everything they could to make the occasion special. We turned up there last night (10mins late as it took a while to walk along the front) and were met by friendly staff. Our... more
Baia, located at the V&A waterfront, had been recommended to us by the manager of our hotel in Franschhoek and I have to say it was the best seafood I ever had. Just delicious. Superb quality of food, superb service - our waitress guided us through the menu in a charming and competent way and she was always just in... more
