Having been to Ocean Basket in Sea Point on many occasions, it is sad to see quality of food going down. Oysters used to be fantastic, now more expensive for much smaller ones. Service is interesting and the big manager is homphobic and has far too much attitude ! What a shame. more

This is one, simple, honest, and great seafood restaurant. Great fish and chips, prawns, and other fresh seafood fare. Great, personable service. Very reasonable prices for the quality and freshness of the seafood. We really enjoyed our lunch at Ocean Basket and will come back again. more
We ate here 3 or 4 times over our 3 weeks in Cape Town. The food is really good and their seafood platters are good value for the money. This is a very casual dining place and easy in and out. The food is good and good value for your money. I would recommend it for lunch or a casual... more
Visited this establishment on several occasion and everytime came away pleased with the food and the service provided. It is right on the main thoroughfare of Hermanus, so not the choice for a quiet, romantic meal...but, the service is efficient and the hot food, hot and freshly prepared with generous proportions. Would recommend for a lunch time or early evening... more

This chain is always good if you want simple, decent seafood, although the Gardens branch is definitely one of the best. For me, its always the fried calamari and rice, you just can't beat it! Puddings good as well, if you have any space left! more
