Canela appears fancy with a lovely interior and linens. One of the owner/chefs, Joy, is a friendly and helpful soul. Our waitress, however, had the personality of a depressed, wet mop, and was very unhelpful. The menu is small and is on the pricy side; the portions are very small and "gourmet", if you will. In response to 'Needs to work out Kinks': I'm sorry to hear that our guests suffered silently throughout their entire meal, never taking an opportunity to let me explain any mis-understandings or expedite their service in a more timely fashion. I was, obviously, present in the dining room and would gladly have clarified several things: our entrees are composed dishes...

Like many from Phoenix, we jouneyed to the Arizona Wine Country, hoping to sample some homegrown wines and find something reasonably edible to eat. We caught Canela's name from the websites, confirmed through the recommendation of our B&B owner. Canela is located on Highway 82, right next door to Cafe Sonoita, but miles away in many respects. I enjoyed a terrific halibut filet (I usually opt for non-seafood in AZ) with a mushroom broth and my companion had a steak. Both were terrific as was the service.
