The food here was absolutely amazing. It's pretty pricey, but you can get a pre-fixe menu that give a good overview of the restaurant's food. Also, they have an excellent breakfast at much more affordable prices. While there, the dining room was completely full, yet the waiter never left us waiting for anything and was always attentive when needed, yet... more

I had eaten & stayed at Manka's 4 times in the 18 months before the fire there in December. It started out as a wonderful experience (yes, it's pricey, but they did deliver...). Each time I came back the experience was a little poorer than the time before. The last time (around late September) we went for the Saturday night... more

Mankas was, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in the San Francisco bay area, which is saying something in an area known for truly fine dining. A fire destroyed the lodge and dining room on December 26th. You can still STAY at the Cabins and Boat House, and plans are in progress to rebuild. Its reputation was such... more

Babett's Feast! Foodies Paradise. Top of the food chain when it comes to sustainable, locally produced food. For the unsophisticated palatte or the someone unlwilling to experience the new and creative, this place isn't for you. Everything is fresh from local farms, ranches and the bay and the menu is usually decided that day, depending on what is available. Prince... more

My husband & I recently celebrated our anniversay with a dinner at Manka's. I will first of all, tell you that he & I don't eat out often and certainly (with 4 children) not at "high end" restaurants. But this was a special occasion, and my brother, a definite foodie" had given it high marks. Tip #1...when making your reservation,... more

Our meal at Manka's was one of the most amazing meals I've had in the California Bay area. I've lived in San Francisco for four years, and am fortunate enough to have eaten at just about every top restaurant in the area. And this is on par with any of them (and exceeds most of them). The best part was... more

We recently returned and again experienced a wonderful dinner at Manka's. We toddled over from a nearby B and B and were able to indulge in great food and an outstanding bottle of wine. One thing that separated us from a few diners around us was that we had a quality waiter who knew the food and wines very well.... more

Disappointment, terrible waste of money, too bad because I've heard 50/50 things and gave it the benefit of the doubt. Money is no object, but menu and service was lost - they obviously don't care about the customer. Special requests fell on deaf ears and flavors were off. more

I just got back from Manka's and had a great meal. The food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was very quaint and clean. THe seeting was very nice as wel, in the woods next to an ocean inlet. The service was very good as well. My dinner partner and I put this on our Must list for another trip.... more

We had an exquisite meal here with out of state visitors, and we were all blown away. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we started out with a tomato/okra soup with "tiny pillows" which actually were like beignets without the powdered sugar. Melt in your mouth amazing delicious, and the soup was rich and flavorful. Then we had the... more
