We were in Laguna Beach for 5 days and even though we stayed at the St. Regis we liked this place better for dinner. We ate there for dinner and than lunch a few days later. Service was friendly and the martini's and food excellent! Good location also! more
My wife and I have eaten at 230 Forest several times now and have not yet had a bad meal. The prices almost fit into the affordable category. Highly recommended. more
This place was recommended to me by a friend. While the atmosphere is fun and open, everyone is seated quite tightly together. But that doesn't seem to bother the trendy clientele. The food was super delicious and service was great. And they don't skimp on the alcohol in their cocktail!! more
230 Forest serves lots of fresh fish (they can get plenty of it locally) in a bistro setting. There is a large and active bar. The tables, as others have mentioned, are close together. But we were a party of four, and we did not have to yell to carry on our conversation. Each of us had a different fish... more
Arrived early and sat on porch. Fun to watch the passerbys and guy on skateboard crash! Wait staff was efficient and fun. The food was great and I got the impression that everything is good. Will go back next time we are in the area. more
I am based in the UK, but visit Laguna Beach quite often on business. I have eaten at all the major spots, but i always return to forest ave. The wine list is great, friendly staff and excellent seafood. The Halibut and Day boat scallops are fantastic! HIghly recommended! more

This restaurant is what you would expect to find in Laguna Beach, and it very much meets those expectations. As other reviews have mentioned it is tightly packed. We walked by this cute restaurant around 7 pm and asked for an 8 pm reservation the same night. Came back, got seated and had an extremely competent waitress taking care of us. Her suggestions for both wine and my husband's meal were spot on. Great food, great night! more
