We had a 6pm dinner reservation at Osteria Mozza on Nov. 23, which was our first anniversary. I noted in the reservation with Open Table that it was our anniversary, and the host immediately mentioned it upon our arrival. Since 6pm was only an hour after the restaurant opened for dinner, it was fairly quiet when we arrived 15 mins... more

My girlfriend took me to this restaurant on the evening of Saturday, November 21 for my birthday. This place is jammed with tables, and way over-crowded. We arrived 15 minutes early, and we weren't allowed to wait at the bar, because they serve food at the bar. When we were seated, it took at least 15 minutes for a waitress... more

If dining here you must take advantage of the many different cheeses on the menu. We had a special mozzerella that was flown in from Italy. So good. Great, attentive service. Would go back again but also a big fan of the pizza next door. more

This was our big splurge on a trip to LA to drop my daughter off at college. We dressed nicely and arrived 10 minutes past our reservation time (5:45 PM) due to traffic (we left 45 minutes early and still got stuck!). There were some diners in jeans and others who were dressed up, so there didn't seem to be... more

Osteria Mozza has incredibly delicious food. My husband and I split a burrata, salad, and beef short ribs, and had a carafe of wine. Everything was amazing, but jus know that it is going to be at least $100 per person if you each have your own entree, appetizer and wine. more

Whenever I go to LA on business, I always pick one pricey restaurant for a "splurge evening". With all the great reviews, I had to make Osteria Mozza my choice this year, and I was beyond thrilled with the results. Let me say up front 2 negative things about the restaurant. First, it's REALLY expensive and the bar DOES NOT... more

Went on first week of August . Osteria Mozza, (Melrose Ave.Los Angeles,CA) Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton Nice dark decoration, with a sumptuous comptoir ,for this italian restaurant. Try the flawless Agnelotti and the Fetuccine al ragú, a home made pastas coocked “Al dente “ of course. Try the Barolo “Germano Ettore” it’s “out of this World”. The day we... more

During our recent trip to California, we, unfortunately, only had the opportunity to have one dinner in LA. My fanatical love of cheese (particularly burrata) led us to Mozza. And after weeks of salivating while reading the menu, we had an incredible meal. Everything from the the burrata, to the pasta and the beef was wonderful. Try the ricotta and... more

Briefly, the decor was spare and the ambiance noisy. My "caprese" appetizer contained a few (admittedly sweet) halved cherry tomatoes and a poor quality, tasteless oval of mozzarella, not recognizable as "bufala". Two of our party ordered meat main courses and asked for "medium" preparation. Both arrived extremely rare. One fish main course arrived raw and had to be sent... more
