We have been dining at Patricks for lunch and dinner for quite some time. I look at the varied comments and cannot but wonder where some of these people went! Today was another fabulous meal. I have tried quite a few items, have liked a few, loved a lot. I do see Patrick on quite a few occasions. He mingles... more

Patrick's Side Street Cafe is a destination unto itself. I would drive a long way to eat whatever Patrick is throwing on the grill that day! more

I LOVE PATRICK! Yes I DO! Now I have been all over the world, and what drives me crazy about America, is Americans who need their hands held and a false sense of superiority. ! If you want to be treated like you are at Disneyland, or need someone to flatter you without reason, then skip the Side Street Cafe.... more

We've eaten here many times on the way to Santa Barbara and have always found the food wonderful and the atmosphere great. However, until today we had not dealt with Patrick! Despite ten people waiting outside, he was late opening the restaurant because he was upstairs talking with a cute girl on the street! The guy is arrogant and full... more

Patrick's was a great restaurant when Patrick was still in the kitchen cooking. Not sure what has happened but if a recent visit was typical of what has been going on there lately, it is not good news. On our most recent visit, the mushroom soup was so salty it was inedible and the lamb and fish were bland and... more

Rudeness is an entre at this dive. The food was slightly above average, the prices through the roof, and the floor show put on by the chef was so ugly and unreasonable that we looked around for cameras. He terrorized his staff and handicapped them completely. The poor thing who waited on us couldn't write the order because her hand... more

Lots of hype, short on overall experience, quite disappointed. Have been here 4 times and each experience was about the same. Patrick the owner treats his staff and customers with disrespect. It is really uncomfortable to watch him in action. On top of this uncomfortable feeling that you get, the food never proved to be worthy of the reviews that... more

Patrick, the owner, has an incredibly rude attitude. He treats his customers like he treats his staff, like they're lucky to even be in his restaurant. Before we went, I heard the food here was amazing (but Patrick was a character) so I thought we'd try it, figuring the "incredible" food would justify his behavior. The food was average at... more

I was recommended Patrick's by a recent aquaintance, so I decided to read the reviews posted here and the ones I read were all good. I did not get a fun vibe at this restaurant and thought it was super overpriced. There were flies on our bread and we had to push the flies away from our food. I did... more
