So it's in a lovely setting. Who cares? The "famous" weekend buffet consists of tired platefulls of calorie laden junk, scoffed mostly by fat people in Hawaiian shirts. The rest of the menu is full of dull burger and comfort food, barely better than you'd get in your local Chilli's - yet five times the price. As for the service...... more

On our way back thru Malibu, we stopped at Duke's for a pina colada and some nachos (yes we're from Texas). The dining area was closed for lunch by 2pm, so we had to sit in the bar area. It's rare we go to a restaurant and dislike everything from the wine to the dessert, but this was one of those occasions. Vacationing in Malibu and wanted somewhere on the beach for dinner. It does have a nice view of the ocean. But food was average and the service was also average. Would not go back. more

For special occasions, Dukes has awesome upscale beach type atmosphere literally sitting on the edge of the water. We watched dolphins swimming. The food and service were excellent and I can’t wait to go back. We both had the crab appetizer and the fresh fish was halibut. more

The biggest things Dukes has going for it is a HUGE parking lot for easy parking and a view of the ocean from most tables.
