Hap's is one of those institutions in downtown Pleasanton. The building has been there for ever and the steakhouse has been around for about 10 years. It's 1956 at Hap's, and sometimes that's a refreshing change. It's a very old-fashioned place with red plush decorations, a piano bar and tuxedoed waiters who speak to you in a whisper. You'd never know what it was from outside, though--their old-fashioned neon sign makes it look like it might be an old-west style saloon. more
Hap's is supposed to be a high end steak house, unfortunately it is only high end in their HIGH PRICES. Sadly the quality of FOOD & SERVICE is a LOW END 2-3 star.. The main dishes cost $36 to $48 and the side dishes ( fries/baked potato) cost $4 extra while the salad is $8 extra. With those prices, one... more
Hap's in Pleasanton has been around for a long long time. Situated right in the middle of town, it has a longstanding reputation for great dining. The menu has a decent variety of food selections. Mostly, beef, which is Hap's specialty. And, you had better like a lot of it. Atmosphere and decor is very appealing to the uppercrust business... more
