A great little Gastropub, with amazing staff that's very willing to take the time to make recommendations. Try the Scotch Eggs and the Moscow Mule.
The food and beer were good, but really no better than any other pub you've been to. However, this pub is much more expensive. Yes, they're all about sustainability and I commend them for that. I may even be willing to pay a bit extra, but if I do, I want the food to stand out. Additionally, service was friendly,... More
I loved Martins West from the moment I walked in the door. The atmosphere is unique and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the food/drinks are amazing. While I lived in the bay area I took coworkers, out of town guests, and friends here as a way to show what great food we had available.
Martin's West has a nice pub look and vibe. Its usually busy with a younger crowd. We went there on a Monday night because they offered no corkage on mondays-a nice deal. The service was pleasant but they were obviously understaffed. We waited about 30 minutes for service and to get the wine open. We split a Caeser salad which... More
Great brew, service and ambiance. Friendly, efficient bar tenders. Lively, with diverse and interesting clientele.
Looking for Scotch and beers from Scotland? This is the place. They have lots of pub grub as you would find in Scotland and others that have been deconstructed into fabulous bites or delicious meals. Always busy so try a reservation.
It's a rare treat when someone brings their idea of the perfect pub to fruition, invites the public to share in it, and perseveres in difficult economic times. A bit disappointing after high expectations for some good Scottish influenced food – on balance not worth the trip to Redwood City. For appetizers, we had the haggis on a stick which was OK and the Scotch eggs which were unusual and not like the real thing – both had been fried much earlier and reheated. Large selection of bottled/canned... More
The beers are great, the staff are fun. The menu is limited and sometimes the food is ok and sometimes it just isn't good. They were changing their menu more often and at least you could try to get something different. Service is often lax, but building is a wonderful oldie.
