This was the only BAD restaurant food we got on our recent trip to California. The resort may be okay, but both my husband and I had a bad dinner here. My fish was tasteless and his meat was way overcooked. Would NOT recommend the restaurant. The motel may be okay; we did not stay there. more

The Cavalier Restaurant is amazing. The Frenc Toast is superb. The coffee is freshly brewed and piping hot. The fruit cup is a delectable mixture of cantalope, musk melon, and grapes and just the right size. Oatmeal is hearty and they provide lots of brown sugar as topping. Eggs were fresh and tasty. We went online to look up places to eat while staying in san simeon since we were there for two days while visiting the hearst castle. We found that everything in town was overpriced... but found the Cavalier's menu online only to be highly disappointed when we looked at our menus in the restaurant with the prices being on average... more

the idea of eating in a restaurant attached to a Best Western was pretty terrifying, but you look around at what's available in this area that's in the middle of nowhere, & you really don't have much of a choice. Just finished staying at the Cavalier. Not a bad place to stay, right on the beach. My family and I enjoyed walking out of our room and in 3 minutes playing in the surf. A fellow traveler in a local hotel recommended this place for breakfast. Food was very good and arrived reasonably quick. Prices were a little high compared to my mid-west mindset, but probably reasonable for this area. more

Our meal here was one of the best of our trip. The menu selection was great. I had a grilled salmon salad and have never been served a bigger piece of fish before.
