My wife and I were convinced to try they place based on all the great reviews. I will say that it has great atmosphere and the staff are friendly. However all the reviews about how the muffins are the best ever are not true. My wife and I found them to be bland. The gumbo was so so. The catfish... more

Went there last night while visiting Santa Barbara. The food was so tasty and service was outstanding. The drinks are huge so be ready to leave a little tipsy! We had to wait for about half an hour but the host told us to check back in after 30 mins and then we were seated pretty much right away. The... more

We stumbled upon this restaurant while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. We walked by and the man standing outside was so friendly, we came inside for dinner and chose to stay there instead of our original restaurant! The Palace Grill is a fun experience from the minute you walk in the door. It feels like a big... more

The Palace Grill is an AWESOME restaurant serving up perfectly prepared cajun cuisine. My favorite dish is the crawfish stuff filet. If you've never had crawfish, this is how to order it. They also start you off with a basket of yummy fresh baked muffins and have a great atmosphere. Be sure to check out the bathrooms too! (That might... more

This place was a blast. The food was amazingly delicious, the portions were huge, the crab cakes are heavenly and the crawfish pasta is yum. More importantly, the staff was attentive and friendly. Of course, it really wouldn't have mattered what the food tasted like since I was hammered off the quart of cajun martini they serve you. "Limit one... more

We were there at the end of August, 09. Location: around corner from main strip on State street, so near the "heart of the action" Vibe: room is kitchy and old, so don't expect the latest trendiest place. Good buzz, place was full and energetic. Service: friendly, well-informed Food: There's no question it was good food. They serve a mix... more

We were recommended this place by various people we met in Santa Barbara and made the mistake of expecting it to live up to the hype. The Martinis were great, but the food was overpriced and the service overrated, especially since it's what the restaurant themselves seem to pride themselves on. The crayfish popcorn - which is supposed to be... more

We went to the Palace grill after reading review on trip advisor. It was fantastic - the food was great - we shared a crab cake to start, and the portion was big enough for two. The muffins were a great touch. For the main course we both had filet mignon - it was amazing! The singing was great too! more

After traveling to New Orleans on a foodfest week, we've craved creole food ever since. However, the only way to get that style in CA is to crack open Prudhomme's cookbook and make it yourself, which is a half-day project for two. Luckily, we chanced upon The Palace while staying in Santa Barbara, and it could compete with any restaurant... more
