Loved the imaginative menu choices but the wine list, although vast, was on the expensive side. More

One is struck by the feeling of old Hollywood, with the black and white decor, poolside seating, and 1950's vibe. Very retro, and fun atmosphere. Ten white leather "fainting couches" in the foyer, head-to-toe, to create a kind of conversation group? One could almost envision white sports coats, and slicked back hair. However, the food had that same 50's feel---overcooked... More

I had dined at Whist last year for Thanksgiving and it was pretty good. So when girlfriends asked to take me out for a birthday dinner .. I remembered Whist and made reservations. The first problem was the price for valet parking. That alone makes me not want to return. If Whist wants diners from the community and not just... More

I was there for Mother's Day Brunch. I would call is a "mini" brunch. The food was good but hot entrees could have more choices. It was only one serving station - meat curving. There were no your usual omelet or pasta stations. I would still give 3 stars for a nice decor and quality of food but gave only... More

We enjoyed the 5 course Travelzoo menu.  Each course was unique and delicious.  The bread selection was excellent.  The olives and almonds were nice.  The arugula salad and the beet salad were both great.  The meatballs and the shrimp were delicious starters.  We both enjoyed the corn ravioli.  The brioche were also delicious with jam and ice cream, although they... Didn't stay at Viceroy but had a saturday evening dinner with GF at Whist. Arrived at 9pm, nobody welcomed us or held doors at hotel entrance. That was just a sign of things to come. Whist was 1/3 full at most, maybe less. Very dark as mentioned elsewhere. Our waiter (older male) seemed to want to spend as little time... More

Great atmosphere and I would recommend a visit, probably only for drinks. The food quality did not match the price. The tomato salad was bland, the tomatoes tasteless, the veg had no seasoning or sauce; tasteless and the strawberries were hard and juiceless. Service was bad, necessary to take cutlery , lamp and candles from another table and the service... More
