I went to La Gare with my wife to celebrate a early Valentines day and was very impressed with the service and the food! I have been leaving on this area for more than 10 years and this probably my best meal on all this time. The restaurant was packed so we need waite for few minutes to be seated... More

We literally stumbled upon this place on the way to our turn-of-the-entry (20th) hotel. We saw La Gare just in the next block as we arrived late to the Hotel La Rose in Santa Rosa. La Gare means the station in French so we decided it would probably be a French restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw a... More

This place has been open here for many years. Roger is a fine chef and teacher. I have always had a wonderful experience here. Once I saw a very well known celeberity dining... More

What's not to like? The food is delicious, the decor romantic and the prices are within reason for a special evening. Go once and you'll want to return. More

Great little French bistro--unpretentious but delicious food and good wines. With the lights somewhat brighter than needed and the uncushioned wooden chairs, this place is reminiscent of so many auberges that we've enjoyed in the French countryside. I tried the Beef Wellington while my wife chose a white fish--both were outstanding and accompanied by perfectly done fresh vegetables. We shared... More

We went for dinner to this restaurant on the recommendation of someone in our hotel. The food was only so-so. They give you soup and salad with every meal, but even that was only average. I really did not like the soup, although my spouse did like it. I had the duck - it was very fatty and over cooked.... More

This restaurant reminds me of my mother's favorite French eatery, way back when; the décor is actually even similar! Nice without being frilly or frou-frou, and though touted as "romantic" I wouldn't take a hot date there because the seating is rather open and even somewhat non-padded. The food is similar: well prepared, fine quality, plenty to eat, but not... More

We dinned on a Thursday evening with a reservation for 6:30. If you haven't been here before, the dinning area is mostly open with quaint tables lined up snugly about the room. There is no bar but there is a small comfortable waiting room if you happen to be early on a busy night. They were not too busy this... More
